A concept that I wished more Phandom writers would dive into more because I think it's that good is (a redeemed) Dan being the straight man.

Like Danny getting so enraged with a ghost that he literally begins to stalk down said terrified, now-injured ghost with pure rage in his eyes before being gently held back. He rapidly turns his head to see a very concerned looking Dan silently telling him to stop; his red eyes saying it all. Clawed hand holding him by the scruff.

Or Dani getting into such despondent, heartbroken state over Vlad that she is literally seething with tears only for Dan to then kneel to her level. His eyes meet hers, communicating all the understanding and empathy he needs for her to know he gets it all.

Or Jack and Maddie loudly announcing another crackhead hypothesis only for their exhiberant, foolish smiles to fall once they catch Dan's gaze. His eyes are half-lidded with the tiredness that he has at their tactless, scatterbrained approach to ghostly science. His judgment weighing on them so heavily.
