alright, i'll be the one to say it. ao3 and tumblr becoming "mainstream" did so much damage to the community and the writers. i have seen loads of videos and posts about:
1. people hating on writers and fics. writing is something we do for free and for fun. if you stumble upon a fanfic that isn't necessarily your cup of tea or you just don't like, scroll. dont read it. literally leave their page. you don't know if this could be the author's first work that they're so excited about, you dont know if the language they're writing in isn't their first language, you dont know that the writer could be a literal teen and loads of other reasons. fanfictions don't HAVE to be perfect. you write what you want to write because we do it for fun and enjoyment and we want to share that to the world. seriously, what is the wrong with that?..
2. x reader consumers getting WAY too entitled. the number of tiktoks i've seen that say "i run a strict program when it comes to reading fanfics." girl you aint running shit. this is FAN FICTION you're reading. F A N F I C T I O N. there is no denying that most fanfiction writes are beyond talented but just because you read one fanfic that exceeds your expectations doesn't give you the right to talk down on others that don't. people have their own personal writing style, their way of doing things and you talking shit on that isn't right.
at the end of the day, we are all humans, reading and writing is what we do and what we're meant to do. and for you to talk shit about a person WRITING is so insane. we are humans. not some robots that you can tell what to do so you can consume it.
i've seen so so many authors take down their fanfics and losing all motivation to write because of a hate comment. DONT LIKE DONT READā¼ļø
and to every author reading this, this community values your work and your contribution. we love u and, please, never let anyone's negative words have an effect on you.
Summary: Giyuu (along with Kanae and Tengen) became a Hashira before Sanemi. That means Giyuu wouldāve been attending Hashira meetings before the Wind Hashira ever joined. So, what if the Reader has also been a Hashira for as long as Giyuu, and the two have always been close ā often going on missions together, forming a strong bond over the years? Once Sanemi becomes a Hashira and starts attending the meetings, he quickly grows close to the Reader as well and notices the strong friendship between them and Giyuu. , Over time, Sanemi starts to feel something deeper ā maybe jealousy, curiosity, or something more romantic ā and begins to pick up on the subtle dynamic between the two. Would Sanemi eventually confront Giyuu? Or the Reader? Or both ā maybe after a particularly tense Hashira meeting?
Part 2 - (coming soon)
The latest Hashira meeting wraps up with a tense report on Upper Moon activity. The room slowly empties, but Sanemi lingers, pretending to tie something around his forearm tighter than necessary. But, beneath his spiky white-lock, Sanemi's eyes were discreetly fixed on you and Giyuu, who stood near the veranda, speaking softlyāGiyuu with that same unreadable look, and you... smiling. Genuinely.
Heās seen it before. Noticed it. But now that heās had more time to spend near you during missions, heard you laugh a few times, caught you brushing off injuries like they were nothingāyouāre starting to gnaw at his mind. And now this. Giyuu. Always Giyuu
(Post-Meeting)
Sanemiās jaw flexes, and he finally stalks up to Giyuu once you excuse yourself to speak with Shinobu about the Demon activity in the west. The Wind Hashira takes advantage of being the last person in the room to confront the Water Hashira before he exits, āOi, Tomioka.ā
Giyuu turns, only slightly. Always calm. Always unreadable. Sanemi could only barely see his mouth from over his discrete shoulder, "What?ā
āYou and [Name]. Whatās with all that quiet whispering all the time? You two always like that?ā
The Water Hashira slowly turns, somewhat sideways - uninterested in the interrogation - yet he blinks when hearing the mention of you. āWeāve known each other a long time. Is that a problem?ā
Sanemi scowls, āI didnāt say it was. Just didnāt think you were the type to have someone who talks to you willingly.ā
Now, thatās a jab, and both of them know it. Giyuuās expression tightensābarely. But he responds with something unexpected, like a final wave, āMaybe you should try talking to her yourself. If you're curious.ā
Sanemi freezes for half a second, thrown by the blunt suggestion. The dark-haired male walks off without another word, leaving Sanemi to stew in a growing knot of frustrationāandājealousy.
Later that day, youāre cooling off after training when Sanemi appears, still tense, still glaringābut quieter now. It was just the two of you underneath a tree with shade, practical breathing until-
āā¦You and Tomioka. You two close?ā
You smile, thinking back to catching his gaze at the end of the meeting. Nonetheless, youāre just giddy to hear Sanemi talking about the Water Hashira - not thinking much of the comment. āWeāve been through a lot together. Since before most of the current Hashira joined. Heās not so bad once you get used to the silence.ā
āā¦Tch. Still think heās boring as hell.ā
You tilt your head, curious. You or Giyuu never communicated time to make plans ever; no Hashira had time to hang out unless it was a quick bite to eat or training. Even so, you and Giyuu sometimes did those things if free.
āWhy do you ask?ā
He glances away, muttering under his breath. āJust making sure Iām not wasting my own time.ā
Itās late afternoon in the training grounds behind the estate. The place is empty, silent save for the rhythmic thud of Sanemi striking a training post again and againābare fists. Itās been a bad day. Too much thinking. Too much seeing.
Then Giyuu shows up.
Just passing through, quiet as always. But Sanemi doesnāt miss itāhe never does. He hurls one last punch before turning to face him.
There already a vein on Sanemiās face when turning to see itās Giyuu, of all people, he was the least he wanted to see. āYou got something to say? Or you gonna keep skulking around like a ghost?ā
Giyuu, stares for a second, before exhaling, āYouāre projecting.ā
āThe hellād you just say to me?ā
āYouāre angry because you donāt like seeing her with me.ā
Itās blunt. Brutally so. And it lands like a gut punch because itās true. Sanemiās expression darkens, and he closes the space between them in two long strides. āYou think just ācause sheās known you longer, that gives you some kind of claim?ā
Giyuu doesnāt flinch. āNo. But I donāt need to claim anything. She chooses where she stands.ā
That sets Sanemi off. His hand is on Giyuuās collar in a flash, yanking him forward. āYou arrogant bastardāā
Giyuu doesnāt resist, but his eyes narrow. Heās not intimidated. Not even close. āYouāre not fighting me. Youāre fighting your own insecurity.ā
Fists clench, the Wind Hashira snarls, āI should fight you. Just to get it out of my damn system.āBut before fists flyābefore the moment can igniteāa voice carries through the breezeway.
āāAnd I know a really great udon stand in town! We could stop by before patrol, if you want, [Name]!ā
Your laugh follows, light and genuine, echoing between the walls. Itās you, withā¦
Sanemi and Giyuu stare at Tanjiro walking beside you. Beside. You. It made Sanemi want kill the twerp, but he couldnāt when your voice reminded them of your presence.
āUdon before a mission? Sounds like a reward in advance, but sure.ā
Your footsteps approach.
Both men freeze.
Giyuuās gaze shifts slightly, expression unreadable again. Sanemi steps back, letting go of Giyuuās collar as if it burned him. Neither speaks.
Just as you and Tanjiro pass the archway nearby, you spot them bothāstanding too close, too tense, too quiet. You slow a little, raising an eyebrow.
āEverything okay over here? You two look like youāre in the middle of a staring contest.ā
Giyuu blinks, āā¦Just talking.ā Then you glance at the white-hair male standing surprisingly close to himā¦
Sanemi simply gruffs, more so towards Tanjiro than you; he turns his back towards the young Kamado. āTch. Didnāt even notice you walkinā by.ā
Tanjiro grins, ignoring Sanemi's aura, āWeāre getting udon! You two should come along!ā
You glance between them knowingly, sensing the static in the air. As a Hashira youāve been informed to train to the best of the capability, but⦠seeing Sanemi and Giyuu together a lot was still unfamiliar sight to you.
Considering their constant bickering. It felt like staring into the eye of the storm, waiting to brew.
āOnly if you two promise not to glare at each other over the noodles.ā
Giyuu remains silent. Sanemi clicks his tongue and looks away. But neither of them says no.
You, Giyuu, Sanemi, and Tanjiro are seated at a simple wooden stand under the soft orange hue of dusk. The smell of miso broth fills the air, but the only thing simmering hotter than the udon is the tension between the two Hashira beside you.
Tanjiro, bless his optimistic heart, is trying his best to keep conversation alive. āShinazugawa-san, your scars must have so many stories. Have you ever told [Name] aboutāā
Sanemi cutting in, deadpan, āKid.ā
Tanjiro blinks mid-noodle slurp.
āTake your noodles to-go.ā
The silence that follows is so awkward, it could curdle the broth. Even you pause mid-bite.
āAh, rightāuh, I forgot I promised to help Nezuko with somethingāhahaāIāll just⦠Iāll goāā Heās gone in a flash. You sigh, putting your bowl to the side immediately when Tanjiro leaves, debating to get up and ask him to return, but⦠something in the air feels different.
āWas that necessary?ā
Sanemi shrugs as he slurps a spoonful of noddles, loud for the cooks in the back to hear how good the food is, āI wanted a real conversation. Not background noise.ā
Rolling your eyes, and hoping to forget the awful experience that just occurred, you glance to Giyuu. Truthfully, he couldāve said something⦠but knowing the restraining order between the Wind Hashira and Kamado, maybe he thought it best he took his Udon to-go.
Then you realize⦠itās just you, Giyuu, and Sanemi.
And when mentally excluding Sanemi out, it's not till now that you realize⦠You and Giyuu had never sat down for a one-on-one meal together. You and Sanemi have, but that was because of passing on the same path and both decided to use the break.
However... you never spent time with Giyuu. Only now itās making you think of todayās conversation with Sanemi regarding the Water Hashira.
Across the table, Sanemi eats in silence.
You can feel his eyes on you, tracking every flicker of thought behind your still expression. But he says nothing ā not yet. He knows the guilt is eating at you; so fragile minded.
Giyuu sits across from you, his presence quiet but grounding. The smell of warm broth hangs between you all, the soft clink of chopsticks the only sound.
You toy with your bowl, pushing it slightly forward, then pulling it back. Your gaze slips to Giyuu.
āā¦Giyuu,ā you say, voice low, careful. āTanjiro told me you two came here before.ā He doesnāt answer right away. His eyes lift to meet yours ā steady, unreadable, but softer than they should be.
āI remember,ā he says. Just that. No more.
You nod slowly. That wasnāt hard to say. It never is with him. But it doesnāt settle you the way it should. There's something in the quiet thatās too⦠exposed.
The silence stretches ā long enough to feel fragile.
Thenā
Sanemiās voice cuts through it like a blade drawn too fast.
āThen I guess he wonāt mind if you choose me instead.ā
Your fingers still against the side of your bowl.
You look up. His tone is casual, but his eyes are anything but that; he observing the scene unfold.
Giyuuās posture shifts. Barely. But you see it ā the tension that suddenly sharpens beneath his stillness.
āā¦Shinazugawa,ā you breathe.
Giyuu turns his head, finally, to face him.
āYouāre assuming I wouldnāt care.ā
Sanemi raises an eyebrow. His smirk is slight, but it carries weight. āArenāt you the one who said she decides where she stands?ā
āI did,ā Giyuu says quietly. āBut that doesnāt mean Iām indifferent.ā
He turns to you now, and for the first timeāreallyāthereās something open in his face. Unmasked. Barely restrained.
Giyuu, āā¦If you could chooseā¦ā
Then his voice drops to something quieter. Not desperate. But real. Grounded. Raw.
āHow would you choose?ā
Suddenly, itās not about udon or old friendship anymore. Itās not even about rivalry. Itās about you. What you want. What you feel.
Both men are waiting. Oneās smoldering and intense, ready to burn the world for you. The other is steady and quiet, but holding a deeper fire that rarely sees light.
Imagine; How would Giyuu and Sanemi compete for your attention? Similarities? Differences?
Part 1 Part 2...
How would they fight for Reader attention?
Well, If Sanemi Shinazugawa and Giyuu Tomioka were to compete for the Readerās attention, the clash would be hilariously tense but emotionally charged, because their personalities are so oppositeāand that contrast would fuel everything about how they try to win you over.
Sanemi Shinazugawa is loud, agressive, and stated from others to have a temper. The Wind Hashira is anything but subtle. If he wants your attention, youāll know it.
If he sees you talking to Giyuu? Oh, heās glaring daggers, scoffing loudly, and might physically stand between you. āTch. You wasting your time with him?ā
Sometimes - he considers it a tactic - Sanemi acts like he doesnāt care, but in the end always shows up wherever you are. Just returned from a mission? What a coincidence, you guys both can walk up the mountain to have each otherās backs.
Tries to impress you with physical strength or combat skills. But - similar to his little brother, Genya - Sanemi gets flustered and yells when he catches feelings too strong to hide.
āWhatch youāre lookin at?ā
Giyuu Tomioka? Quiet, awkward, emotionally deep. Complete opposite. Heās emotionally reserved, but when he wants your attention, itās subtle and heart-melting.
He wonāt start a fight with Sanemi, but youāll notice small signsālike him lingering a bit longer near you, or even talking back. At one of the Hashira meetings, Sanemiās third one, you thought to sit next to the Wind Hashira to show you werenāt ticked off by his brute nature.
However, like an unexpected storm, Giyuu placed himself directly across from Sanemi. Thank goodness it was a short meeting, or else another staring contest between them would've resulted in a fight.
Unknown to the Water Hashira, his acts towards you are thoughtful, like fixing something for you without saying a word. When he finally speaks his mind, itās direct and devastatingly sincere. His one-liners are unintentionally romantic: āI feel at peace when youāre around.ā
Big-brother who looks after little-brother, taking the responsibility of being his guardian and only care taker since their parents left.
Big-brother who needs to work two jobs a week to make a decent profit of money. Just enough to pocket side cash for little-brother to buy school supplies. Always supporting any second he gets to strive in his public education - unlike at his age - heās ignored it all.
Little-Brother who comes home from school with heart bubbles, talking about how much he loves his first-grade teacher. Chanting praises of her personality and sharing every detail of her beauty to his big-brother.
Big-brother who just snickers as he scrolls through the T.V.ās remote; finding it cute that little-brother got the āhotsā for his teach.
Big-brother whoās annoyed at the yellow-paper his little-brother handed to him the moment he picked him up from the bus stop. Reading the words, āteachers and parents conferenceā making his eyes go blind.
Little-brother who doesnāt want big-brother to go to the conference without him, however Big bro insists he stays home with the babysitter so he can focus on his homework.
Big-Brother who grumbling the moment he walks inside the education building, already feeling the tiredness in his bones and the upcoming, āyou must do thisā or āyou need to do better!ā
Big-Brother already doing the best he can with managing just his own life crises, plus taking care of his little-brother. Lay off him teach.
However, Big-Brother nearly go stunned struck at your classroom door when seeing you at your desk grading papers, noticing the file of his little brotherās name in front of you.
An Irrational-Yandere is the embodiment of unbridled obsession, fueled by impulsive desires and an almost primal need to possess. His obsession is more like an illness, an insidious virus that infects his every thought. There is no reasoning with him, no subtlety in his approach. His feelings for you are rawāand they are all-consuming. Imagine a man who, on the surface, remains cold, detached, maybe even indifferentābut inside, his mind is a storm of thoughts fixated on you. You are his obsession, and nothing will stand in the way of him having you.
This Yandere doesnāt just want youāhe needs you, and it consumes him entirely. His thoughts are twisted and erratic, vacillating between anger and adoration. One moment, heās cursing you for being a "nuisance"āwhy canāt you just be normal? Why do you have to be so cute, so alluring, to the point where it drives him mad? But even in his frustration, heās drawn to you, tracing every little detail of your existence. Heās made a shrine to you in his mindāa pinboard filled with photographs of your daily routine, the people you love, your habits, your online posts. Every thread, every detail, is meticulously connected. A red string here, a note thereāeach one representing another part of you, all forming the complete picture of your life.
In his mind, itās a perfect plan. You belong to him, and he will make sure of it. His twisted fantasies run wild, imagining you locked away, waiting for him. Youāre his petāsomething to be cared for, cherished, and, above all, owned. Thereās no morality in his actions, no thought for the consequences. His love is obsessive, pathological. Every move he makes, every decision, is driven by the singular need to claim you.
The Rational Yandere
Meanwhile, the Rational-Yandere is an entirely different creature. Heās still obsessed, but unlike his irrational counterpart, heās fully aware of his feelings, and he doesnāt feel ashamed of them. In fact, he believes itās his destinyāhis purpose to love you, to possess you. His obsession may seem cold and calculated, but it is born out of a deeper conviction that what he feels is right, that you and he are meant to be together. His love isnāt wild and chaoticāitās deliberate and planned, an intricate web of manipulation and patience.
This Yandere is willing to wait, to play the long game. He doesnāt care if youāre already in a relationshipāhe knows youāll eventually come to him. Heāll bide his time, manipulate situations, and orchestrate events until you see him as the only one who truly understands you. If youāre in love with someone else? No problem. Heās prepared to create fake accounts, send threatening messages, and slowly turn your world upside down until he becomes your only safe haven, the person you rely on.
His actions are cold, calculated, and methodical. Heās not in a rushāhe doesnāt have to be. He knows that in time, youāll come to see that heās the perfect partner, the only one who can truly appreciate you for who you are. Heās not above bending the rules, crossing ethical lines, or doing things that others would consider wrong. After all, he believes that his love for you justifies any action, no matter how questionable. Everything he does is with purpose, a step towards bringing you into his orbit.
The Danger: Raw Obsession vs. Calculated Control
Both types of Yanderes are dangerous, but in different ways. The Irrational-Yandere is driven by unreasoning obsession, his mind clouded by emotion. Heās unpredictable and chaotic, and that makes him volatile. Thereās no telling what heāll do when pushed to the edge, because his actions are born from an uncontrollable need to have you. His love is reckless, desperate, and all-consuming.
On the other hand, the Rational-Yandere is far more calculating. Heās aware of his obsession, and instead of feeling ashamed of it, he embraces it. To him, itās a purpose, a calling, and heās willing to manipulate and deceive to make it a reality. His danger lies in his patience, his ability to plan and wait for the perfect moment. He wonāt act out of anger or frustration like the Irrational Yandere. No, his every move is carefully thought out, and his mind is focused on one goal: to make you his.
So, which is more dangerous? The one who is consumed by his emotions and cannot control them, or the one who can manipulate, wait, and plan for the long haul? The difference lies in intent. One is driven by the heart, the other by the mind. And when combined, the two make a perfect stormāan obsession that is not only wild but cunning, chaotic yet calculated.
need more shanks smut so bad, especially when heās so bad for the good-girl marine caught by dangerous pirate foreplay. Get him GOING.
Pull at his cape, nip at his arm, grip his hair and back - he loves it when youāre so close to escaping, then suddenly heās dragging you back into his single arm embrace, and mocking your frail strength.
āOh, no, no, sweetheart. We arenāt done.ā
Heās rolling his hips along the waves against the ship, in perfect sync that his weight knocks the wind out of you from everywhere thrust. Youāre almost forgotten your roll to run, and you try getting back into character but⦠Shanks isnāt letting you.
Worse is when he ignores your surrenders as he rampages your insides. But if you shut up? Heās going slow.

Yandere Rin who falls head over heals for Isagi GF
It really ticks him off how a guy like Isagi, a lukewarm idiot, have the capability to hold onto a beautiful girl like you?
It annoys the hell out of him.
Especially when Isagi finishes a workout and immediately calls you afterswards to wish you a good morning, or good evening, or sends a check-in text.
Whatever. He doesnāt care.
Or when you surprisingly drop by the Blue Lock facility; your college only being 15 min walking distance (Isagi said once) to bring him out for weekend dates when heās free.
Or when heās sitting on the bench drinking his water, and suddenly a vibratation on the bench alerts him to his left, glancing down to see Isagi phone flipped upwards, with a message from you;
āIām gonna be busy all next week. I have school lots of work to prioritize, and you have soccer, so how about we wait till the spring? Is that okay?ā
Why should he care?
You arenāt his girlfriend.
ā¦his girlfriendā¦
His girlfriend.
His girlfriendā¦
Though, he did like the sound of that.
āThanks Bachira!ā Isagi voice comes off the field as Rin hears his cleets reach the solid ground, soon witnessing his shadow come into view.
Swiftly, Itoshi gets up from the bench to not get caught by Isagi for glaring at his phone screen. But he notices the way Isagi eyes lit up when he picks up his phone after reading your message, swiping his thumb to soon see the cute messages you both shared.
It sickens him.
āRin-chan?ā
āHuh?ā
Rin shifts his eye to the dribbler in the field, currently waiting for his next opponent so Isagi can rest. And the striker can feel the boil in his heart increasing at the thought of Isagi enjoy chilling on the bench, texting you.
Before Bachira can even kick the ball away from his front foot to his back foot, Rinās not wasting his time before already having his leg in the air to kick it from that exact spot straight into the goalie net 10 ft away.
