@angry-radfem
womanhood is not dresses, makeup and long hair. butch and GNC women are equally “woman” to the most gender conforming woman in the world.
i’ve received that exact message multiple times before – “how are they women if they’re gender non-conforming” and that’s kind of terrifying. like, why do you think women need to follow gender roles to actually be considered women
this is why i am anti-gender
*Switches languages in mid-sentence while talking to myself*
i hate when people use “millennials” as an insult like???? i didn’t even want to be born u can’t use that against me
AUNTIE WANDA IS A TERF, PROBABLY OVER THE AGE OF 30
is anyone else like… weeping right now
asking 4 a friend
Tumblr loses their shit when confronted w the fact that people over 25 exist and post on this blue hellhole. I removed my age from my about, not because I was ashamed of it, I’m hella rocking it at 47, but because it got so irritating that every gendershit who “came at me” (read: threw a wobbly over something I said) would just OBSESS over it.
tumblr users act like women over the age of 26 are “predatory” for trying to engage in feminist discourse online but think adult men practicing ddlg with barely-legal teens is a-okay!
👆 👆 👆
I’m so grateful for all the older feminists here
How dare we age and gain knowledge and use the Internet as a platform to share knowledge!!
I for one can’t wait to be older and nothing made me more excited to be an “older” “mature” women than meeting fierce angry feminist women online who’ve made their own place in the world, and frankly there’s not a whole lot of representation of that so thank you my big sisters
If you want someone to help you see through man’s bullshit and abuse, ask an older radical feminist woman. She will tear it open so you can see it for exactly what it is. She’s already been there, over and over again. Being abused by men in every way, raped, attacked and having been close with enough men to see the truth about them, no matter how they hid it, is basically a super power in this gaslighting society run by men. The older you get the more unapologetic you get.
THIS IS TRUE. I GIVE LESSSSSSS THAN ZERO FUCKS.
This is just more woman hateing women are considered by men to reach their peak at 22 and to start loseing their attractiveness by 25 (as if beauty is something you can loose) but let me tell you your 30s will be great it will be better than your 20s you will be wiser and you will be under your own steam. It only gets better as you get older.
yes!!! thank you so much!!
I for one can’t wait till im 30, it’s so stressful being in yout 20s, everyone expects so much from you. Like you’re suppose to have your shit together and be a rockstar and a breath of fresh air of a new perspective or something and you’re really just a large child whos been able to tie their shoes really well for over a decade wow hurray!
Well anyways, older radfems are like teachers for us and I really value their insight and opinion over anyone my own age. I feel safe with them around tbh ❤
do you ever just sit around and think I’m in my twenties.
cute animal vines?
female experiences:
being told it’s normal if your clothes hurts you and you have to endure it
being told it’s normal if sex hurts you and you have to endure it
not finding basic information about your biology and sexual organs through most of your life
being told that pain is a normal part of your life
being told that if you are a “good girl” you’ll endure it without complaint
being told you should be grateful for the rights you have and finding out in the past you wouldn’t even have these rights
getting brutally shut down if you try to stand up for yourself
getting forced into a role of serving men because “it’s woman’s job”
having your labor dismissed as worthless and stupid
but you have to keep doing it anyway or you’ll get punished
anything you do is considered worth less and generally dismissed
realizing men’s work is praised and glorified even when they do harmful and environmentally destructive work for selfish purposes
realizing you can’t do anything about it and feeling less worthy even when you do more work and more necessary and useful work
having your compassion used against you
having your energy and emotional labor used by men who demand you to listen to them and comfort them and stroke their ego
being laughed at and invalidated and called slurs and insults when you try to talk about your own problems
being called selfish, dramatic, crazy, delusional and damaged when you expect basic decency and compassion
being treated like you’re insane and hysteric if you display any kind of anger at how badly you’re being treated
feeling infuriated at double standards and for how harshly you’re judged and punished while men can get away with anything
doubting your own senses and considering if you really are crazy
being ignored as a human being, your intelligence dismissed, only thing that seems to have any worth is your body but you get shamed, objectified, sexualized, used, violated, predated on and hurt
hating your body and wishing it was a different body, one that nobody would hurt and violate
feeling completely helpless and alone
- Having doctors make medical decisions /recommendations about your body that are based on medical studies done on men. Having male scientists defend this practice with the argument that studying disease and the effects of medicine on specifically female bodies is too expensive and a waste of time, meanwhile women are dying because we are ignorant about female-specific symptoms of disease and have a 1.5-2x rate of adverse drug reactions when compared to men.
- Having doctors and other health officials make medical decisions about your body that are predicated on the idea that you are a potential baby maker first and a person second, with bodily autonomy and a quality of life and everything.
- Having doctors dismiss your real medical issues because they assume you’re just reacting hysterically (as women do, you know). Suffering for a long time because you have trouble finding a doctor that takes your health seriously.
- Living in a society where the het sex culture is so misogynistic that it can be a genuine turn-off, but instead of society addressing the issue of misogyny and violence in our sex culture, society addressing it by shaming them and inventing medications to “fix” the fact that they don’t get off on incompetent or abusive sex.
- Seeing constant messaging about how you need to have certain painful and dangerous surgeries and other procedures done, not because they’re medically necessary but because the natural female body is considered disgusting, especially as it gets older. Nip this, tuck that, inject this poison into your face.
- Legitimately and personally worrying about whether your legal right to abortion will be taken away at any time. Even in supposedly progressive cultures it seems to take constant vigilance to maintain the rights we have.
- Seeing activism that purports to be about saving women focus all their energies on emphasizing the value of saving women’s sexual attractiveness to men instead of saving women’s lives.
- not being allowed to define your own beauty (i.e. Being forced into clothes and makeup and diets, not being allowed to have short hair)
- being told your secondary sex characteristics are inappropriate and you must hide them before they even appear on your body
To begin to ask “why?” is one of the most important tools for women to actually become empowered in the true sense of the word.
not to be negative but some things really are unforgivable so can yall like stop insisting that we’re all gonna lead miserable and unfulfilled lives if we don’t forgive literally every single person whos ever wronged us
Do not interfere with women’s recovery process by being a distraction and an annoyance while claiming it is “for her own good”.
hi can you give me some sources for the gender pay gap please? because the last time i checked it was illegal to pay someone less based on their gender.
it’s illegal to rob but people still do it? LMAOif i have the energy sometime soon i’ll get back to this
hey do you have any sources on “rape” ever actually happening bc i’m pretty sure it’s illegal soooo like why do feminists care?
Has this person ever held a job in their entire life? Most employers and managers don’t give a toss what’s legal, they give a toss about what they can get away with while avoiding legal trouble, which is a completely different kettle of fish. Pay discrimination is very difficult to prove in any company where people can be paid different wages/salary in the same position, which is most of them. In companies with fixed pay for a particular position, employees can still be given the usual responsibilities and workload of a higher-up or different position, so they are effectively doing that job without the pay OR the title. Even if you found a way to prove definitively that you were being cheated, in many places you don’t actually have much in the way of recourse? Yes technically wage discrimination is illegal where I live but you have a very narrow window in which to report it and the first step in the complaint process is for you to confront your employer directly and unsupported with a written complaint, which turns out to be a great way to give them a heads-up that they should start fabricating cause to fire you. My first job out of college, the managers would brag to our faces that they regularly broke employment laws (they did) and that they just fired anyone who complained (they did). Most employers won’t be as cocky and blatant about it but yes there is absolutely hiring and wage discrimination. Work in an industry long enough and you’ll start to recognize the coded language used in many job adverts; “dynamic” and “energetic”, in my industry, means “under 40”. Anything talking about “cultural fit” is typically looking for a white straight ex-fratboy under 35.
There have been actual studies done that putting a man’s name on a resume instead of a woman causes hiring managers to ballpark a much higher salary offer, and a similar effect is seen with “white - sounding” names vs not. Women are often blamed for not negotiating but further studies have shown that women who negotiate as aggressively as men do not reap the same benefits and may even be penalized for being too “greedy” or “entitled”. This effect is again greatly magnified if the woman is not white.
Yeah so it turns out the employer/employee relationship is asymmetric and that without effective unions or enforcement of employment laws, employers can get away with a lot of scummy shit. Like no kidding hey, welcome to Earth.
Shout out to the girls who not only dislike penis, but HATE it, who will castrate any crusty dick anyone puts near them, who are unapologetically lesbian and not at all ashamed of it.
Stay strong girls ❤️✨
me at the library sale yesterday: I should pick up a new female-led YA novel.
fantasy novel blurb: “BUT WHEN A MYSTERIOUS BOY…”
dystopian novel blurb: “WHEN HER DESTINY COLLIDES WITH A BOY FROM ANOTHER CLASS…”
slice-of-life novel: “SHE AND THE BOY BECOME UNLIKELY FRIENDS… AND MORE”
