In the distant past, a war between Gargoyles and the rest of the world was waged, escalating to the point that most feared the conflict would never end. But when all hope felt lost: Heroes appeared! Beings with supernatural abilities, later dubbed "super powers", turned the tides of battle and ended the Evil Scourge of the Gargoyle empire.
A thousand years pass, a whole culture evolved around the idea of these "Super Heroes", with the greatest of them all being part of the ever-rotating ranks of the "Heptade".
But this story isn't all about the costumed crusaders who protect the peace. This is the tale about those who would challenge the status quo, who would do anything to obtain power and control.
