i was gonna respond to someone on a different post of mine but i decided not to start a fight today so i’m just gonna make a whole new post.

so, genuine question for some of you: do you think when dc is drawing damian to look like bruce 2.0 they’re doing it to accurately represent arab people who “look european”? especially when ra’s and talia (who are also chinese btw) are often not drawn the same way? do you think dc NEEDS more representation for light skinned, european looking people of color? do you think the fact that dc constantly dogs on the al ghuls and damian’s culture even in his fucking aapi celebration comic may have something to do with him being drawn to look like his “good” white father rather than his “bad” brown mother/grandfather? the argument that “some arab people look european” is not relevant here because damian wayne is not a real person. he is representative of the beliefs and the biases of the people who write and draw him. and as it stands right now a vast majority of dc creatives are firmly against the al ghuls and are, at the VERY least, culturally insensitive. some of you are missing the point so severely.

basically, do you think that once she's batman (bc we all know she will, or should be the one with the mantle after bruce retires/dies for good) she'll also take on the responsibilities he has in the justice league ?

ooo great question ! honestly i dont think she'd WANT to take over the jl. she doesnt have any ties to any of the members or really has interacted with many of them. cass has always been more of a solitary hero, outside of working with her family ofc, but she has been a part of teams before, mostly just the outsiders. and she DOES take over the leadership of the outsiders in 2007! however, her membership of the outsiders was directly stated to be as a contingency should anything happen to batman (which is does. he dies) and then shes the leader. but shes also at a fairly low point in her life, dealing with the aftermath of what oyl did to her and almost everyone hating her basically, i think she wouldve done almost anything if bruce asked her to ToT. like she just thinks its her duty to fulfill bruce's request of her before he died (he came back)

SO! if she could help it i really cant imagine her leading the jl lol. if bruce had died and told cass to take over as batman, just like that, i think she'd do her best to fulfill all of his duties as best as she could (jl included) + she'd definitely would feel obligated to do so. if she had a choice in the matter, however, shes leaving that shit to dick and tim lol

You know what I fucking eat up every time? The thing where one character is an optimist and the other is a pessimist, and something happens that just, snuffs the hope right out of the optimist, and the pessimist has to desperately try to do what the other has always done for them, cheer them up. I’m so tired of the “why do people hate aspecs, they aren’t doing anything?” argument. I know that it is an attempt to support us, but it fails so spectacularly to understand aromanticism, asexuality, and any other aspec identity that it’s actively frustrating.

We are doing something. We’re rejecting allonormative ideals and that’s a massive thing to do. We’re actively fighting not just to help other aspecs, but to help everyone, because amatonormativity (and allonormativity as a whole) hurt everyone. Single people who want to find a partner but can’t also deserve to be able to exist.

There are so many issues with the expectation of marriage, including:

A single income isn't enough to get by anymore

Having a spouse is almost necessary under the current medical system

Society shames and pressures people who are single to get into relationships constantly

Rejecting allonormativity means fighting against these things that hurt everyone.

So, no, aces and aros and other aspecs aren't "doing nothing." We're doing quite a lot.

Her internal monologue calling out to ‘bad silence’ without any previous reference to good/bad silence but still gesturing to it like an established idea… do you think she - 16 and dumb in a bright red skirt and headband - used to categorize him like that. Good silence, bad silence. What does that hum mean. Is this the kind of twitch of his shoulders which means she’s made him smile or the kind that gets her dismissed without a thought in the cold of the night. Again. Is that exhale exasperation or good humor. Always checking, was that a good silence, or a bad one.
