Yep! He also “subtly” blamed the director and cast for the movie’s failing. You can read more about it under the critical reception section on the Wiki article.
I remember reading the original script’s ending after being disappointed with the theatrical version, and it was way worse than what we got. Apparently, the hybrid was going to be a giant crab or spider or something.
