You will never understand the impact on the manhwa community this series had at it's prime. It was revolutionary! It was insane! It was ahead of it's time! It's one of those "You had to be there" events!
No because in this manhwa:
The fl and og!fl actually got along and were great friends with no drama
The 2 prince brothers actually cared for each other and there was no fight for the throne
No love triangle between the two princes and the fl just wholesome married couple and siblings in law shenanigans
Great friendships not just for the fl but for the ml too the whole story just screams found family it's not only focused on romance
Fl actually cooperates with ml from the begining and becomes a double spy!
Every character was so interesting and got you intrigued no one was one dimensional every character was well constructed and had a personality
This is a cult manhwa. Everyone who is like me and read it while it was still ongoing from the begining know just how amazing this manhwa was at the time!
I binge-read this and it was so good 😭😭

if sokka and zuko were university roommates (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ
The Tachibana siblings have my whole heart actually. They are everything to me.
Hina slapped Mikey when she thought he was picking on Takemichi. She pushed Takemichi out of a burning car despite how terrified she was.
Hina has always seen through him, knows him even when everyone else is fooled by a smiling facade.
Naoto dedicated his life to the same job as his father despite not liking him. All for Hina, all because he trusted Takemichi.
He's watched timelines change before his eyes and even in the worst of times he's relieved to see Takemichi return.
Naoto and Hina both give Takemichi the hope to go on and carry on. He's their hero, he's not Mikey or Drakken or anyone else.
He's Hanagaki Takemichi and that's enough.
As someone who loves anime, I am so psyched that a lot of series I follow gets animated or continues to get animated. But as someone who loves Haikyuu, I cannot help but feel sad that the Inarizaki match was the last animated season and that succeeding matches would be in the form of a movie. And based on the Dumpster Battle movie, a lot of important scenes may get cut out 🥲 Imagine MSBY vs Adlers being less than two hours 😭
Is the Haikyuu franchise not profitable? Did I just imagine the hype around the anime??
I wonder why we do not have any more series.
Let's talk about Pah-chin, real quick, actually.
This man is a founding Toman member. He's been with them for forever and has seemingly been incredibly dedicated to them.
He's a loyal, caring, protective guy. He knows he's not the smartest but he's secure enough to joke about it himself. He has a short temper, but never fights without a cause. When he needed something from Toman, he still put the team first and stated that they didn't have to get involved because he'd hate to cause trouble for them (it was at Mikey's insistence that he accepted the help).
Fuck, he's close enough to pretty much every named Toman member that most of them were at his WEDDING.
He's literally just a sweet, bashful, slightly dumb man with a massive heart.
Why do y'all hate him so much?
Why do y'all portray him as gross or rude? Why do you think he's abusive? Why do I only ever see him angry? Why does no one ever draw him? Why do edits of the Toman founders specifically avoid showing him, and why are all the comments on those videos "Haha missed Pah-chin... I don't mind tho!!!!"
Don't answer that, I know why.
I know exactly why, and you know exactly why.
And the funny thing is that when a fandom arbitrarily decides to pick on the fat character, the "ugly" character, they'll usually come up with some excuse to hate them, as if if they were drawn as attractive it would even matter.
"Such-and-such was a pervert!" But the numerous pretty perverts in the same fandom get a pass. "So-and-so was obsessive, what a creep!" But when someone pretty is obsessive they're your yandere bf for lifezzzzz.
But at least they have excuses.
But Pah-chin?
Pah-chin did nothing, NOTHING.
Pah-chin helped found Toman. Pah-chin fought by his friend's side fiercely. Pah-chin helped Takemichi. Pah-chin sought revenge after his friend's girlfriend was assaulted.
The only excuse I've ever seen was "But he's so short tempered and keeps yelling at Takemichi 🥺"
Oh but Baji's the best character ever. Smiley is your baby.
Pah-chin (the person that got angry because Takemichi was trying to prevent him from GETTING REVENGE FOR AN ASSAULT VICTIM) is the irrational angry one, not the dude that sets cars on fire, or the dude that beats people to a pulp while gleefully chanting 'yay murder'.
Screw that.
Pah-chin is hated because he's fat.
Pah-chin is hated because he's ugly.
There's literally no running from that anymore and everyone that has ever deliberately overlooked him, or 'joked' about him being useless or irrelevant, or actually hated him, need to confront that in themselves.
Pah-chin. Fucking. Supremacy.
Pah-chin has my respect when he (1) avenged an assault victim, and (2) didn’t run from the consequences of his actions. Let us not forget that Pah is literally rich and he could have gotten away with it but he chose not to because of his morals.
He was also super sweet towards Chifuyu when they first met in the spin-off.
Pah-chin is an amazing character
i need other peple's input on this: am i the only one who finds the baji/chifuyu dynamic kind of weird?
like, maybe it is because i have a lot of trouble understanding baji's character (it probably is), but while i know that baji cares about him, i feel like chifuyu cares a lot more (regarding the og manga only!! i haven't read the spinoff yet, even if i caught some info on it here and there. i am planning on doing so, i think it would help me understand them a lot more). he seems like he very much favors kazutora over fuyu, which is understandable, but it makes seem chifuyu's devotion a bit extra😓 esp in the spinoff lol, fuyu looks like he has the biggest shojo crush on baji
it's kind of iffy to me that during the bonten tl, chifuyu became a petshop owner when it was originally baji's dream to work with animals (fuyu wanted to be a pilot) and took kazutora with him (just because he was baji's friend, when he is canonically the person he dislikes/fears). like.. i don't know, it makes it seem like ""he has no personality"" outside of him? ygm?? this is really not random chifuyu slander, i actually kind of like him, but i just can't wrap my head around it😞 i can't tell if this was the direction his character was supposed to take. is he just supposed to be baji's #1 superfangirl, the hyperdevoted right hand and michi's friend? if that's the case, great!! it's just that it's not clear to me, chifuyu fans, please give me your thoughts!
Warning: TokRev spin-off spoilers ahead
I might get flamed for this, but I think Chifuyu has similarities with Hanma. Both of them were so bored with their lives, and they got the excitement when they met Baji and Kisaki respectively. As questionable Hanma’s morals are (if he has one at all), one thing we cannot take away from him is his unwavering loyalty to Kisaki. As far as I know, in all timelines, they were entangled with each other.
Chifuyu was the same. Although he has stronger and more defined morals than Hanma, he was bored when he was in middle high school. He didn’t have friends per se, only followers. He also mentioned this repeatedly in the spinoff. When he met Baji, he felt tingles all over. I am not even kidding, he used that term in the Chapter 23 of the spinoff manga 😭
Hanma and Chifuyu’s motivation for such devotion are different though. For Hanma, it is because Kisaki can promise him a lifetime of entertainment. For Chifuyu, it is more of a nod to the legacy his father left.
This was discussed in the first chapter of the spinoff. But Chifuyu’s father died the same year he was born, and it was to save a girl he didn’t even know. So to Chifuyu, the lesson was that he had to risk his life for someone else.
So he decided to risk his life and follow Baji. That’s why he decided to change his dreams, and to take under Kazutora in the Bonten timeline. Moreover, this would make more sense if we factor in the fact that Ryoko (Baji’s mom) told him to look after his son and that Baji considers Chifuyu his younger brother, since he was an only child.
Is Chifuyu only meant to be Baji’s right-hand man and Michi’s friend? At this point, it is too early to tell. But I do think that he has one distinct feature: he is Ryusei’s savior.
I think if you want to see Fuyu outside the pet shop trio and Takemichi-is-my-partner dynamics, I highly recommend you read the spinoff because his relationship with Ryusei adds a deeper layer into Chifuyu. You see his kindness and loyalty outside of Baji’s direct influence, since he said that he still trusts Ryusei. You see his playful side with their petty rivalries and pranks. You can see how intuitive he can be even with circumstances he does not have much information of.
I hope this made sense because I have yet to sleep but really want to discuss Chifuyu more. Let me know if you have more to add!
