@ people with good self-esteem: How the fuck??
I’m so tired of having to be strong. I’m so tired of every single one of my friends relying on me to be there when they aren’t there for me. It sucks when you only have yourself, it sucks when you’re at your worst and nobody knows. I’m tired of breathing. I’m tired of feeling like shit all the fucking time. I’m tired of having to fight urges. I’m tired of fighting. I’m tired of living. I’m just fucking tired of everything. I need everything to stop, just for a moment.
Don’t be afraid to be “too much.” Call me 5 times a day because you wanna hear my voice or something came up and you wanna tell me immediately. Text me 12 times in a row when I don’t answer fast enough. Leave me cute texts when you can’t sleep. Hold my hand. Everywhere. Sit really close to me on the couch. Keep your hand on my thigh. Always have a part of you touching a part of me. Tell me you love me every hour I don’t care I want to be smothered in love holy fuck life is too short to hold back.
The most disturbing thing about accidentally waking up at 4am is realising some people do this on purpose so they can exercise.

Has anyone else noticed how, when you have a chronic condition of some kind, that there’s always the basic assumption from people around you that you’re not already doing everything you can?
It’s all about the illusion of control. People who are healthy like to believe they can always keep being healthy if they do the right things. They don’t want to think about how good people get struck with terrible circumstances for no reason. So they keep assuming that if they got sick, they could do something to make it better. And if you’re still sick, that must mean you’ve done something wrong or not done enough.
Nail. Head. The same attitude can be seen in how a lot of people talk about poverty.
And sexual assault. All they have to do is not go there not drink that not wear that not date them and they’ll be fine, right?
The Just World theory - that as long as I do everything right, I’m safe, and everybody who isn’t safe is at fault for not doing everything right - is perhaps the most harmful and widespread mindset today
if you ever see a conservative and wonder just how in the world they have so little compassion? they are genuinely convinced that most - not all, but most - bad things that happen are the fault of the person affected, because then they don’t have to feel bad
somebody explaining this to me as a young adult was, quite literally, the start of me seeing the world in a new way and moving considerably to the left politically. by letting go of the just world mindset my conception of reality shifted considerably

I’ve waited 2 years for this post to hit my dash again. Totes worth it

I love the Winnie the Pooh newspaper comics. Everyone’s such a dick to eachother, it’s so out of character. Is it simply called “Winnie the Pooh”? I never bothered to read the title, I just call it “It’s Always Sunny in the Hundred Acre Woods”

A growing number of states have adopted similar legislation to protect LGBTQ youth.
Yesterday, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan signed into law the Youth Mental Health Protection Act, making anti-LGBTQ conversion therapy for minors illegal.
With the new law, child care providers or health practitioners will be disciplined if they are found trying to change a minor’s sexual orientation or gender identity. Countless medical organizations agree that conversion therapy doesn’t work, and worse, can inflict lifelong trauma on those who experience it.
Young people who are rejected by their families over their sexual orientation or gender identity are more than eight times more likely to attempt suicide than youth from accepting families, according to the Trevor Project, a pro-LGBTQ advocacy group that is working to ban conversion therapy across the U.S.
Maryland joins a growing number of states that have adopted similar legislation to protect LGBTQ youth. Connecticut, California, Nevada, New Jersey, Oregon, Illinois, Vermont, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Washington state and the District of Columbia have all banned conversion therapy; New Hampshire and Hawaii recently passed protections that are awaiting approval from their governors.
This is so important. Congratulations, Maryland.
