just a heads up that i won’t be updating this blog anymore with the changing of interests and removing myself from public social media (which hurts for me to say because i know i hate watching it happen ;A;/)

you may see me reappear.... in another form... who knows 

i will miss my shitty poland+czechy comics the most and just having fun being memey, weird, and having fun with history in a way that’s fun for everyone

thanks to everyone who followed me! it’s been a great couple of years :’) i’ll leave my art up for a while but very likely i’ll archive the art on the blog and eventually take it down

den: the flirt/bare-toothed russula, because of his... um... smile?

sve: a pale thorny hedgehog mushroom that looks spiky but the spikes under the cap are soft and the mushroom is edible and gentle on the palate. ngl my favorite pick

fin: gyromitra esculenta because it’s simultaneously edible/inedible (gentle and soft/BADASS) and it just looks weird and cool ok

aph countries: attack of the giant puffball

alternatively: en pretends school isn’t starting and reads the wikipedia article researches extensively on giant puffballs

mushrooms are cool and fun-gis (<- totally not a bad pun), and i’ve been informed by (actual extensive research on) the internet that mushrooming is the “national sport” of the czech republic and a common family activity in certain european countries.

besides the thickly-stalked mushrooms that are often picked for human consumption in the czech republic, apparently the giant puffball, another type of mushroom also grows in the czech forests! the baby ones are white, round and cute!!!

they are also pretty commonplace in temperate areas and very eatable (unless they start rotting, but since when did you ever trust something that rots), and quite easy to find!

...except select areas in poland, apparently...

... and in parts of lithuania and norway, where they’re considered rare and in the case of norway, a conservation concern.

(p.s. zapiekanka is delicious 10/10 recommend)

they’re big, round, cute, and edible when their spores haven’t grown in and they’re still white on the inside. old giant puffballs look awful and the pictures of them i saw horrified me so i’m not putting them on here haha nope
