Paczkis at work! Happy Fat Tuesday!
Spinach avocado salad. Amer's.
Woke up with a fever and grabbed my nearest Odwalla. It is made of raspberries, pomegranate juice, lime juice, happiness, and good vibes. Instantly feeling better.
Fleetwood Diner - Breakfast
Gyro Hippie Hash with wheat bread and two eggs over hard Corned Beef Hash
My guilty pleasure. Super Bowl plans: Buy a Taco 12 Pack & eat it with my homies while watching Beyonce work it.
The remnants of my salad today. Probably the only healthy thing I've eaten today. Wamp. It is a pre-made Spinach salad from Revive in Ann Arbor & it was DELISH. Totes should have taken a pic before eating it. I was just too excited!
This is my attempt at making my routine look fancy. Because its incredibly the opposite.
Every morning, I go for a run and follow it up with a glass of ice water, Emergen-C, and Shakeology Chocolate shake. The Shakeology is like drinking liquid chalk but it’s not the worst thing ever. By that, I mean you get used to it.

My mom actually gave me this stuff because she thinks that I eat unhealthily, which, I suppose, may be true, considering that up until a month ago, my diet consisted of quesadillas, burritos, cheesy bread, and grande soy peppermint mochas, and I was constantly sick for about two months... Wamp. Momma knows best. Yay nutrition!
Whaddup! So I decided to ease into this by eating more fruit and veggies and have a juice a day for a week. THIS juice is an Apple Pear Orange Lemon juice. I need to make up better names. But I'll edit this post once I drink it!
Fat, Sick, & Nearly Dead
60 days of fasting. 60 days of juicing.
Today I watched a documentary called Fat, Sick, & Nearly Dead which is about this man who goes 60 days solely drinking juices. He has a rare skin disease (I believe), and he must take some amount of pills a day. After the 60 days of juicing, not only does this man lose weight, but he is no longer on his medication, his skin is glowing, he has increased energy, and he generally has better health. Which is pretty impressive.
He meets a truck driver from Iowa who is morbidly obese and has the same rare disease as this Aussie. The truck driver begins a juice fast for 60 days, and his health improves exponentially. Through their stories, they inspire thousands of people to start juicing.
I suppose I'm one of those people. I definitely will not do sixty days because I don't think I have that much weight to lose, and as a college student, I don't think it is a viable option.
However, I do have 6 days to spare.
So while my chapter on Restaurant Week is officially over (successfully, I may add), I will start a new adventure in detoxifying my body through juicing.
My Restaurant Week Recap!
Sunday:
Lunch: Frita Batidos Great atmosphere. Delicious cuban inspired food with delicious accompaniments. Probably not the best deal for what you get.
Dinner: The Blue Nile Fun for large groups. Incredibly filling. Must be open-minded and empty-stomached when you go.
Monday:
Lunch: Mahek Indian Cuisine My first Indian restaurant experience! It was delicious in my opinion, but from other friends, it's nothing extraordinary. I discovered I really enjoy Chai.
Dinner: The Heidelberg Always delicious beer. But it's not on the RW menu. Good German food, although a tad bit scanty. The soup was DELISH.
Tuesday:
Lunch: The Blue Tractor Nothing special. I had a great waiter. He was a goof.
Dinner: Mani Osteria Probably my favorite place. The food was delicious, our waiter was chill and funny, and there was a great atmosphere. The wine was a bit expensive though.
Wednesday:
Lunch: The Melting Pot SO FUN! Another shout out to Schweigs because she and I had a great time & got free food because of it! Chris & Mike - great waiters. They told us we had to ask for them next time we came.
Dinner: Conor O'Neill's By far, the best deal. So much food for $14. AND none of it was pre-made or frozen.
Thursday:
Lunch: The Prickly Pear Their butternut squash soup is to die for. Definitely recommend it. Everything there is hands down delicious.
Dinner: Marnee Thai Restaurant A better version of No Thai! in my opinion. We got free drinks because they forgot to seat us. But it was fun! SO much food.
Friday:
Lunch: The Quarter Bistro Cute place way off Main Street, but the food was so good. Although, I did feel like the Crepe Canneloni I had was more like an enchilada... But I'm not complaining.
Dinner: Conor O'Neill's I was fine going here twice because it was the best deal ever! & BEER. Love beer.
SO, that's my story & I'm sticking to it. It was an epic Restaurant Week, and even though everyone thought I was crazy for going all out, I'm glad I did it. Shout out to everyone who I dragged along with me... Especially Jake because I made him come with me more than anyone else. LOVE YOU ALL.
Happy eating!
