I want to read a story about a wizard whose only spell is âfix thisâ, but the specially-crafted magic takes their intent into account.  "Fix this" can mean repairing the wheel on the adventurersâ cart or healing a broken arm or âfixingâ a lock so that itâs in what the wizard considers the âcorrectâ (unlocked) position. Imagine the other mages getting increasingly frustrated as the wizard stubbornly refuses to learn any other spells.
Wizard: *points at a canyon* Fix this
Other casters: Thatâs not really how spells -
Wizard: Oh look, one of our blankets is now a magic carpet. Â Guess we donât need a bridge.
Casters: How -
Wizard: *points at logs that wonât catch fire* Fix this
Other casters: Thereâs been too much rain, it wonât -
Wizard: Â I fixed it so that itâs in the same state it was yesterday. Â Someone here knows how to start a fire, right?
Casters: What -
Wizard: *points at charging dragon*: Fix this
Other casters: THATâS NOT HOW MAGIC WORKS YOU IDIOT WEâRE GOING TO DIE
Dragon: *coughs* Did you just⊠cure my intestinal problems?  Iâve been trying to stop breathing fire for weeks, but it just kept spilling out, and every time I tried to ask for help, I burned everything down.  I wonât forget this kindness.
Casters: *ripping their hair out* H O W
Iâm dying đđ

Rediscovered Tumblr lately after my social media hiatus. Forgot how much I liked this platform to collect pieces of the world that reflect who I am or what Iâm feeling at the time. It was pretty interesting to look back at my past posts/likes and to see if those things still resonate with me.
I see life as an ongoing series of moments. How present we are for these moments determines our quality of life and the quality of our results. When we are scattered, inattentive and unfocused, daily life becomes stressed and frenetic. In the midst of a multitasking frenzy we easily fall prey to reactive emotions and misguided actions that lead to unwanted and wasteful personal and professional results. When we live with greater attention and presence we act more deliberately, prudently, and effectively. Life starts to work as it should. In short, we find peace amidst the chaos.
It is liberating to admit that the house looks like a train wreck, because thatâs just the way it is
A seriously cool smartphone. Putting social values first.
Fixing The Cell Phone Problem Just last year nearly 2 billion cell phones were sold worldwide. Manufacturers have pushed so fast for technological advances that they haven't (yet) fully accounted for the human cost of their products. The overwhelming demand for new gadgets has fueled war, human suffering, and environmental degradation around the globe. iFixit and Fairphone Fairphone, a one-year-old Dutch social enterprise, wanted to do something about it: they set out to produce a smartphone that told the story of how things are made, and start a conversation about responsible electronics. They also wanted their phone to be serviceable through its lifetime. Enter the Fairphone, the first phone that ships with its own set of repair guides through a preinstalled iFixit app.

For those who believe in God, most of the big questions are answered. But for those of us who canât readily accept the God formula, the big answers donât remain stone-written. We adjust to new conditions and discoveries. We are pliable. Love need not be a command or faith a dictum. I am my own God. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us. We are here to read these words from all these wise men and women who will tell us that we are here for different reasons and the same reason.
Poet Charles Bukowski
A wise man once said that all human activity is a form of play. And the highest form of play is the search for Truth, Beauty and Love. What more is needed? Should there be a âmeaningâ as well, that will be a bonus? If we waste time looking for lifeâs meaning, we may have no time to live â or to play.

the case for an analog notebook
In the times of laptops, smart-phones and netbooks, I would like to make a case for the good old fashioned notebook - those archaic tools called paper and pen. And yes I first wrote all this down in one of those notebook things that I carry wherever I go. So here is my list of why a notebook is better than a netbook in no particular order - that is how my brain worksâŠin no particular order.
Portable
Does not require batteries or electricity - no reason to purchase those pesky carbon credits (what does that really mean anyways?! - is it like confession for earth plunderers?)
Retro is IN people!
A piece of something real - analog in an overly digitized world
Get to practice the lost art of handwriting and rediscover what a hand cramp is
Donât have to turn it off on a plane
Always âonâ for impromptu moments of brilliance and the never ending grocery list (no more âGod Dammit, I left the grocery list on the fridgeâ
A place to store your dreams
Itâs quiet - doesnât ring, beep, zap, tap, etc
No direct light from an electronic screen beaming into your eyes (like me right now as I type this)
Survives getting wet if you drop it in a puddle or have it out in the rain
Always has service! No wi-fi needed - no âdo I have enough barsâ up on a mountain
Impervious to hot or cold
Very lightweight
No viruses/malware
No upgrades needed
No pesky power cords to haul around
Itâs a âclassicâ
Itâs frugal, simple, and cheap
No bulky pockets - stuffing a laptop in your coat pocket doesnât work so well - trust me
It survived the end of the world in 2012!
Can still use it when the power is out
Can also be used for multi-media without expensive programs like Photoshop
Single-tasking vs. Multi-tasking - Live in the NOW
Can draw a treasure map
Great for love notes - more meaningful than a text message or email
Minimal chance of being jacked or stolen - like who wants to steal your innermost thoughts and grocery list?
Canât be copied and pasted - yes this can be a positive
And last but not least:
There is just something about the transference of emotion and ideas from your soul and mind through your body to your hand in a way that is as unique as you are - this cannot be duplicated by pressing a key on a keyboard
