yay!!!! 🥳
weeks 21-28 on my weekly poster challenge this year. Unfortunately I was only able to hit 28 out of 52 this year, so I know at least one goal for 2026.
1-10 here. 11-20 here.
i hate it when i cant even write a poem about something because its too obvious. like in the airbnb i was at i guess it used to be a kids room cause you could see the imprint of one little glow in the dark star that had been missed and painted over in landlord white. like that's a poem already what's the point
you get it. you get the themes. i dont have time to do it justice. just look at it its on the ceiling
feeling this going into 2025
Mad about politics again
Reject reading social cues!! Embrace collecting personal intel via the mycorrhizal network that connect us all.
anyway, i merged my consciousness with the Mycelium. dig your fingers into wet soil if you need to contact me.
My body is already an inhospitable environment, there’s no way some idiot baby would be able to survive in it
oh to one day live in a world that doesn't hinge on the whims of the united states of fucking america.
taking the porn off tumblr just made us all hornier. it used to be that we’d only sexualize basic things, like human bodies. but now?? you wouldn’t believe the things my mutuals are getting off to
2016 tumblr porn: straight up just a gif of penis in vagina
2025 tumblr porn: video of someone slowly bringing a magnet to a CRT tv screen while static is playing
What a time to be alive.
Happy Black History Month to all and to all a good night ❤️🖤💚
Sometimes in therapy I feel like I don't have trauma in some correct sort of way. Like I'll be explaining that my childhood wasn't even really traumatic, just kind of bleak and boring. The worst my parents ever made me feel was disappointed, but not surprised. it was all so very mundane. And whenever some therapist asks me what I mean, I'll tell some random story that I happen to remember off the top of my head of what my childhood was like, or one that I think illustrated what kind of people my parents were and what their relationship was like.
Like this one time I remember when I was like 10 or so, I can't remember where we were going but the whole family was getting into the car, and dad started bitching at mom about how come when their first car was in his name, it was their car, and then when they had their own cars they had his car and her car, but now that they only have one car again, it's still just her car.
And then mom bitterly pointed out that the reason why he doesn't have a company benefit car anymore is because he lost his lisence for driving drunk with the kids on board while she was on a business trip. (And while mom didn't bring it up at the time, he had also tried to cover this up and act like nothing had happened. And she wouldn't have found out if my (11/12-year-old at the time?) sister hadn't thought of calling one of mom's friends like "hey cops showed up and took dad so we're home alone now idk what we're supposed to do now" and she came to watch us and told mom.)
...And I was like 10 and sitting quietly on the back seat listening to them bickering about this because they still both bothered to be mad about it. Not mad enough to get divorced or anything, but still bitter enough to bitch at each other about each other. And a therapist will be like wow how did that make you feel, and ???
Bored of it? Disappointed, but not surprised? That was just what life was like. Quietly waiting for bitter adults to be done bickering with each other because you can't do anything to fix this and while they could, they won't do anything to improve their lives. Life was just like that.
Minimization about the debilitating consequences of a childhood rife with emotional neglect is at the core of the PTSD denial onion. Our recovery efforts are impeded until we understand how much of our suffering constellates around early emotional abandonment – around the great emptiness that springs from the dearth of parental loving interest and engagement, and around the harrowing experience of being small and powerless while growing up in a world where there is no-one who’s got your back. Many survivors never get to discover and work through the wounds that correlate with this level, because they over-assign their suffering to overt abuse and never get to the core issue of emotional abandonment.
Traumatic emotional neglect occurs when a child does not have a single parent or caretaker to whom she can turn in times of need or danger, and when she does not have anyone for an extended period of time who is a relatively consistent source of comfort and protection.
[…] I sometimes feel the most for my clients who were “only” neglected, because without the hard core evidence – the remembering and de-minimizing of the impact of abuse – they find it extremely difficult to connect their non-existent self-esteem, their frequent flashbacks, and their recurring reenactments of impoverished relationships, to their childhood emotional abandonment. I repeatedly regret that I did not know what I know now about this kind of neglect when I wrote my book and over-focused on the role of abuse in childhood trauma. It is so hard to convey this to a client whose critic minimizes and shames them for their plight by comparing them unfavorably to me: “ I didn’t have it anywhere near as bad as you. My mother never hit me!”

GORGEOUS 😍
I've been keeping it off my face as much as I can on video, but I'm livid about the TikTok ban.
I have about 100,000 followers on that app. I joined during the pandemic. I was lucky to find a community full of incredible people, many of whom I now consider lifelong friends. Because of the community I found on that app, I found space to experiment with my gender presentation. I was able to come out as nonbinary (to feel SAFE ENOUGH to come out as nonbinary) because of that app.
I've seen a few Tumblr posts in which people gloat they never got into TikTok. Good for you. You won't suffer emotionally, and that makes you feel superior. But if you have no concept of what that app has meant for more than 170,000,000 Americans (that's half of all Americans!), many of whom do not have access to community in physical spaces, kindly sit down.
The ban constitutes the largest mass layoff in American history. We will lose billions of dollars in our domestic economy. Over 7 million small businesses are shuttering because of the ban. You will feel the effect of that whether or not you were on the app. If you can't grasp the significance of that, again: kindly sit down.
The language of the TikTok ban has set a dangerous precedent for the American government to shutter any tech platforms they deem "dangerous" for arbitrary, undisclosed, nebulous reasons. This will affect Americans' ability to organize, spread information, and protest. They have effectively banned our right to assembly in digital spaces. This is the greatest infringement of free speech that has ever occurred in the United States. If you can't grasp the significance of that, either: kindly sit down.
This is bigger than "never falling for the TikTok craze." This is an enormous governmental overreach sanctioned by our own Supreme Court. It's bigger than teens doing silly dances you can sneer at from your smug high horse.
And if you can't grasp that: Kindly. Sit. Down.
The fact that Microsoft Word has to be a subscription is upsetting. I already paid for it why do I have to pay again
Yes please be mad about it, genuinely- You used to be able to purchase a single disk to install it and use it forever after that initial purchase of one key. It sickens me to see all this stuff which used to be a one time purchase be shunted under a subscription now.
"Why is pirating going back up?!"
This. This is why. People don't mind paying a high price for software if it's only the once, or every 4-5 years.
But having to pay a high price regularly? Especially in the cases where you lose access to your own work if you don't?
That's why people are pirating software.
It’s possible to buy a non-subscription version of Word; Microsoft just intentionally makes it very difficult to find (and also expensive).
However, I know a guy who knows a guy website: MS Office Pro for $50. If the link starts going to a Page Not Found, just search the site; they usually have some form of this sale available.
Worth noting: while $50 is still more money than $yo-ho-ho, that money is a great way to make VERY clear to Microsoft that we DO want one-time-purchase products, not subscriptions.
My laptop just died. If it can't be fixed and I need to replace it, this post is gonna be a real life saver, because my family has been sharing an old version of Word that came with a limited number of lifetime licenses, and we're fresh out.

Get LibreOffice. It's fully compatible with MS Office, but it's free and open source. You're welcome. :-)
I guess we're back. Frick meta.
Nobody wants to hear it but you really need to start paying attention to care instructions on clothes and taking care to wash them properly.
A 80 years ago clothing was expensive and hard to make, that separating colors, materials, etc was imperative to keep them in the best condition.
In the past decade or two we've lost this knowledge.
This can be attributed, in my opinion, to advances in textile and detergent technology that caused less damage to our clothes with the default washing and drying method.
Now, we've looped to the other extreme, where clothes are mass produced so cheaply that any mistake in washing them will cause them to shred and wear faster. Fabric is thinner, dyes are less steadfast, elastic is cheaper.
People need to start taking care of their clothes again. and its a sign of how capitalism is "working" that I think gets overlooked entirely.
Easy ways to get started:
If you have clothing thats pricey and got elastic in it (bras, nice underwear, nice pants), air dry them or dry them on LOW heat. Heat damages elastic and causes it to wear out faster.
Separate items that are "heavy" (towels, work uniforms) from other casual clothing. The light items being tossed around with heavier items can wear them out.
Use a garment bag for bras, underwear, and anything else that may get twisted up or eaten by the machine.
Turn graphic tees inside out and wash on cold (With cold friendly detergent!). This will prolong the life of the graphic tee.
Honestly just use cold-friendly detergent if you can. You'll use less energy and the cold water damages clothes less. Soaps gotten better where you dont NEED hot water most times (unless the care instructions say to of course!)
DO NOT USE "SCENT-BOOSTERS" OR OTHER TYPES OF ADD INS OTHER THAN A DRYER SHEET! These add an extra layer of hard-to-remove gunk on your clothes and dryer! This damages clothing and can lead to very expensive dryer fixes down the road.
In addition to that, get a washing machine cleanser! Sold near the detergents and can give your washing machine a nice refresh! Especially useful if its stanky
