You laid next to Cassie in her bed.

"I thought I'd spend the rest of my life with you."

You thought back at the day of the fight.

When Rue had accused Cassie of sleeping with Nate she had also inadvertently, and to the knowledge of only you and Cassie, accused her of cheating.

Cassie's big blue eyes kept flickering towards your desperately when they weren't piercing a whole on the floorboards in an attempt of escaping Maddy's wrath.

Your secret girlfriend had been cheating on you with local psychopathic jock. The same one who hurt so many of your friends and who you could only feel hate towards. This thought was hard to register, your mind slow with shock. Lost in memories, trying to piece back what had been perfect ten minutes ago.

The first time Cassie kissed you she was drunk. She was upset about some fight she had with McKay. Fez's blue eyes were filled with sympathy and worry.

No one had ever sad that to Lexi. Let alone someone she felt the exact same way about.

It was Maddy. She was outside your house and needed to talk. Urgently.

You rubbed your eyes with exhaustion and concern. Maddy had been babysitting tonight. Had something gone wrong?

You and Maddy had been seeing each other since she broke up with Nate. You became best friends when you started highschool and since the breakup you begun spending more and more time together.

It started with a kiss. A sweet innocent one. Your first one too. You were embarrassed, scared you were bad at it. When you told her, Maddy just laughed and told you you two would just have to practice more together. Whispered I loved yous and spontaneous kisses quickly morphed into sleepovers where you would cuddle and talk for hours with long make out sessions in between.

You weren't officially together, not yet anyway. Maddy wanted to tell her parents before it became public. She feared that if they found out that she was dating a girl through other people their reaction would be even worse.

The bell rang and you continued your conversation while putting all your graphite pencils back in the box where they came in.

When you left the classroom Jules approached you right away with that cute mischievous smile of hers.

"Hi Jules!" You laughed while Kat went up to meet Maddy. Cassie had been acting weird for a while so Maddy needed someone new to go shopping with.

She gave you an enigmatic grin.

"Let's go then." She held your hand and led you out of the school skipping and laughing. It was January and it was so cold outside.

"Want my coat?" Jules asked amused with your shivering.

Now in Jules' coat you two walked to a playground next to school that was usually empty at this time of day.

"So what's behind this spontaneous hang out session thing?" You asked.

"I don't know. I guessed I just thought you seemed cool from those talks I had with you and Kat and I thought would get along. Like really get along. Not in a 'Hi, how are you? I'm fine.' way but in a true spiritual genuine way. But not in a lame way. "

"You sure said 'way' a lot in there" You giggled nervously as you two sat on the swings.

Jules burst into a slightly embarrassed laughter.

"Yeah I'm not great at expressing myself eloquently."

"I think that just saying eloquently makes you eloquent."

"Eloquently." She pronounced carefully, her face getting close to yours gazing at you mischievously.

"Precisely."

You two look at eachother for a little while silently. She broke the silence.

"So, wanna be my spiritually linked always truthful... person?"

"Sure I'll be your person. So, no lying?"

"No lying. I can tell you anything and you can tell me anything."

"Sounds good to me. You start."

She looked down a bit and stopped swinging.

"I'm trans. But I'm not sure if I'm a woman. I don't know what being a woman means anymore or which type of gender expression I want to reach. Everything feels binary, and I'm just not. I'm a 'she', I guess I'm still trying to figure out what that means though."

Her eyes were a bit wet as she looked up at you through blonde eyelashes.

"Not knowing is okay. I'll stay with you while you don't know and I'm pretty sure I'll stay with you regardless of whether you actually figure it out. And I'll do my best to support you through everything. I mean, I am your truthful spirit soulmate thing."

You gave her what you hoped was your most reassuring smile and thankfully she rewarded you by grabbing your hand and kissing it.

"Jules thank fuck! There you are!" Rue approached seemingly out of breath. Did she run all the way here?

"Rue! I told you I was hanging out with her after school!"

Rue looked at you and Jules and her eyes fell on Jules' jacket wrapped around your shivering body.

"Yeah, yeah I know. I just, you told me you were going to the mall so I went there looking for you and then remembered you telling me about the whole change of scenery. I know you got upset about Elliot, I just want to explain the situation you know? I don't like when you're angry at me."

Her hand twitched nervously and her eyes were apologetical and pained. Just the thought of upsetting Jules seemed to hurt her.

True to her nature, you new friend jumped up from the swings and went to hug Rue before planting a sweet kiss on her lips that left The sighing with relief. Your stomach clenched at that. You could feel you eyes stinging.

Remembering you, Jules fished out a pen from her pocket ran to you, leaning down to write her number on your arm which you promptly offered up to her. May a piece of Jules written on you could ease the sadness flooding through you right now.

She kissed you in your cheek and waved goodbye as she walked away holding hand with Rue.

You were sitting at lunch with your best friends. Maddy, Cassie and Kat. Well Kat was your bestest best friend (not to sound like a 13 year old). And through her you met Jules.

Where does one even begin to describe Jules. She was incredible. Creative, beautiful, funny and so smart. Inside her was a kindness, a will to change the world that you'd never seen before.

Fine alright. Who were you kidding? You totally had a huge crush on her. But Jules was with Rue. Or maybe not with Rue? Honestly who knew at this point. Either way you didn't think it was really your place to get between them. Speaking of Jules.

"Hey, look who's there! Your girlfriend!" Maddy laughed.

You turned to Kat.

"Did you just set up a date for me?"

"Apparently." She said shrugging. You hugged her and squealed. You were gonna spend time with Jules. Alone time. Your nerves were already getting to you but all the smiles from your friends kept you feeling that warmth that a single word from Jules always provided.

That warmth stayed with you and for the first time you actually went to biology class with a smile on your face.

Honestly you were drunk. The tavern's sounds flooded your senses and could almost make you forget your heartbreak. That goddamn witch with her violet eyes and raven hair and dresses that hugged her figure just right. The emotionally constipated sorceress whose strength and passion kept you up at night. You two had a strange relationship. You teased each other mercilessly. You even thought she hates you at first. But no, you weren't going down that path, not tonight. You focused on Jaskier's babbling.

–And truly I cannot understand for the love of me what he sees in that murderous witch! You know she tried to kill me once?! With a djinn! Insane that woman is.

You chuckled at Jaskier's outrage. This was your deal. He badmouthed Yenn and you slacked off Geralt. It wasn't fair for either of them but again, it also wasn't fair that they were too lost in eachother to noticed Jaskier and you.

He threw an arm around you and apologized.

You held his head in your hands and kissed him on the forehead.

–Jask. My darling. I can assure you that you look as flawless as ever.

He dramatically wiped a fake tear from his eye and you both started giggling drunkenly.

At that Yennefer put a hand on your shoulder and said she was tired. You two were meant to share a room tonight as you often did when her and Geralt didn't feel like spending the night together after a rather loud fucking.

–Go on then, I'm staying with Jask here we are having a tremendous time.

She dragged you to your feet and whispered in your ear:

–You're bloody drunk and I do not want to deal with you or him– she stared pointedly at Jaskier – going on about your headaches tomorrow. Just do as I tell you.

She smelled like lilac and gooseberries. You mouthed a sorry to Jaskier who just waved a hand at you and picked up his lute. Your drunk brain just followed Yennefer up the stairs and into your joined room without much complaining but a lot of stumbling.

You laid in your bed and laughed quietly at the ceiling. Ale was really not good for you.

–You idiot. –Yennefer said with a soft look in her eyes.

At that your eyes welled up at you turned away from her. There it was. The familiar ache in your heart.

–What's wrong? –Yen asked alarmed.

You looked up at her, your eyes filled with tears and slurred:

–You always choose him.

She looked angry then. Just for a moment and then her stare was impassive and cold.

–And you always choose the bard. –she uttered.

You laughed incredulously, the serious atmosphere of the moment sobering you up.

–He's my best friend Yen. I'm not fucking him!

–Oh please, if I hadn't interrupted you two you'd me in his bed next morning. –she stated almost casually, but you could hear the hurt in her voice.

Something dawned on you.

–Yennefer. You're not jealous, are you? You're with Geralt. You can't possibly be jealous of me and Jaskier.

–I'm not with Geralt. I haven't been for quite some time.

You stood up and walked to her looking up at her violet gaze. You stared at her lips and she stared at yours while holding your cheek softly.

–Why?– You whisper.

Yennefer clashed her mouth onto yours and kissed you with the need of someone who was drowning. Your hand tangled in her ebony hair. Her hand holding your waist so you were flushed against her.
