What draws them together?
Their mutual ambitions towards their respective interests is something that I think really attracts them to each other.
What are they each afraid of in the relationship?
Percy is simultaneously worried he’s not being enough and also being too much for Oliver at the same time. Oliver is afraid he doesn’t reassure Percy enough and he’ll end up leaving again like he did in the war. They talk though.
How do their strengths or flaws clash or complement?
They compliment each other perfectly actually, maybe when they were younger their was clashes personality wise, but with maturity they realised they’re not really different from one another.
What is their love language?
Percy’s love languages are words of affirmation and quality time, Oliver's are physical touch and acts of service
What secrets do they keep from each other? (And what does this affect?)
Oliver often keeps his emotions a secret from Percy, thinking he must be a pillar for the other to lean on in any case—this upsets Percy because he expects their relationship to be reciprocal so in retaliation, in a way he forces Oliver to speak to him when he’s feeling any less than good. Percy keeps small secrets, things he doesn’t think Oliver needs to know—as a result Oliver thinks Percy doesn’t trust him fully at times and it stresses him out, Percy tries to reassure him but all Oliver wants really is for Percy to be completely open with him.
How do they change when the other is around?
Both become infinitely less intense and annoying around the other
Who notices the other first? Who admits to it first (even if only to themselves)
Percy notices Oliver first, Oliver admits it first
Who starts an argument? Who ends it?
50/50
What’s their worst fight like? What hurts the most?
Their worst fights are in regards to Percy’s family and how he lets them treat him—how it eventually conditions him to think less of himself and eventually leaks into their relationship feeling like nothing he ever does is good enough for Oliver, or he’s overwhelming Oliver, saying he’d be better off without him.
Do they talk things through, or rely on body language, silence, shared rituals?
They talk through things while holding and kissing each other.
How do they apologise, if at all?
It’s very gentle, whoever is wrong goes through what they’re wrong for and apologises over and over while the other promises it’s fine and that they’ll both be fine.
Who’s best at reading between the lines?
Percy, Oliver finds often talks in riddles and half-truths almost fully unintentionally. With years in practice he’s good at finding the real meaning in Percy’s words.
What’s the moment they almost say something—but don’t?
After the war—Percy sees Oliver and nearly tells him everything, where he’s been, what he’s done, how much he loves him, but he doesn’t because his family is grieving and figures he shouldn’t be as selfish as to want when Fred can’t have anymore.
Oliver—He always has something he wants and needs to say to Percy, but because Percy is always busy or preoccupied, he pushes it to the back of his mind, letting it ruminate in there.
Who’s more likely to get jealous (and who hides it better)?
Percy is more likely to get jealous and Oliver is better at hiding his jealousy.
What’s their emotional “tell” when they’re trying not to show emotion?
When Percy is overly tense and closed off, Oliver can tell.
When Oliver goes non-verbal, Percy can tell.
How do they comfort each other?
Oliver would firstly give Percy space for a while then goes to him to ask if he wants to talk about it or not, usually with a cuppa. if Percy says yes they talk about it and Oliver adds minor commentary until Percy usually falls asleep and Oliver takes him to bed, if he says no then Oliver would hold him until he falls asleep with a silent promise that they talk about it later.
If Oliver has a bad day Percy will force him into the shower and then they lay while Percy reads to him, nit cause he cares about what the book is saying but because Percy’s voice comforts him, usually after a while it's enough to make him feel okay to talk about his day, if it's not he'll just curl up into Percy and they'll talk about it in the morning
If they’re separated, what’s the thing they each cling to?
When Oliver’s away for the Quidditch season, Percy wears his spare jerseys from both his current team and his old ones from Hogwarts. Oliver also wears one of Percy’s old Weasley jumpers around and the “Quidditch Through the Ages” book that Percy had annotated for them in their school years.
What’s the line of dialogue that defines their relationship?
“Are you okay?” “With you? Without fail, darling.”
What do they give up or risk for each other?
Their lives. They would do just about anything for each other if it means they can guarantee the other’s safety.
What would their “final scene” together feel like?
Soft, warm, gentle, serene. Just a fluffy scene in general.
Who would they be in a modern AU?
Oliver would still be a famous athlete and Percy would work a quiet office job or be a writer.
What’s the first thing they notice is missing when the other’s gone?
Oliver is a music fanatic, mostly muggle music, so when he’s on tour Percy notices the lack of noise in their flat. When Percy is gone Oliver notices the lack of books left around—Percy may be neat but when he’s reading books he often leaves them around the place.
What was their first impression of each other?
They both thought of each other as nuisance for similar reasons—Percy thought Oliver was too easy going about everything else but quidditch to amount to anything later in life and Oliver thought Percy was too uptight to live like a regular person and would likely live a short life due to stress
What was their first interaction?
Their first interaction was Bill finding a carriage to put Percy in and he ends up in one with Oliver, Oliver tries to talk to him but it's a one sided conversation because Percy is more interested in his book and only stops reading to tell him his name and to be quiet.
Does Oliver like Percy's siblings? Does he like some more than others?
Oliver would only like Charlie seeing as he was his Quidditch captain and he also wasn't around to witness many of the argument between Arthur and Percy so he's mostly impartial. He’d be cordial with all the others as per Percy’s request and the twins for his own sake because it would be difficult to train people he's in constant feud with but that doesn’t stop him from giving them extra work to do at practice when they mess with Percy (so a lot). He doesn't like Bill because he stopped responding to Percy’s letters at one point. I’d say he’s fine with Ginny and Ron.
When would you imagine they get together?
They either get together in their later Hogwarts year or far after the war is over.
If they were to break up, why and how would it go?
if they were to break up it would probably be similar to the way that Percy left his family but in a more "I'm doing this because I don't deserve you" way and Oliver would let him (if they were younger) because he's down bad but if they were older it would take a bit more fighting than just that.
If they were to get together in Hogwarts, would they last until adulthood? Would they last forever?
No, they wouldn’t last until adulthood (because of Percy’s views) but they would probably get back together later in adulthood. Would they last forever? I think yes—I just think they're the type to be reasonable throughout their struggles and not point blame at each other and yeah
Would they want to adopt?
They would both be reluctant to adopt at first because Oliver is away for months at a time during quidditch season and Percy drowns himself in work and was also a third parent to his siblings but eventually when they're older I do see them wanting to adopt.
How would the siblings react to them getting together? How about the parents? Both Oliver's and Percy's
Charlie wouldn't be surprised at all, Bill would be partially surprised, George wouldn't care, Fred can't react he's dead (but he also wouldn't care, Ron wouldn't understand it at first, neither would Molly, Arthur and Ginny would ask them invasive questions about their livelihoods, Oliver’s parents would be glad someone can look past his quidditch obsession
Would you imagine Oliver having siblings?
When I imagine Oliver with siblings I imagine a younger sister who's a squib for no particular reason It's just what comes to mind.
What's their ideal date? Specify if they have different tastes
Their ideal date would just be existing in each other's space Percy could be reading a book and Oliver making quidditch plans, doesn't matter to them so long as they're together.
Would they get a pet?
Hermes (owl) and Pitch (cat)
What would be their job and who would earn the most?
Oliver quidditch player (started on puddlemere made his way up to England team) and Percy head of the department of magical transportation—Oliver would earn more but Percy would ultimately have more money because he spends it freely (on Percy mostly (to his dismay)).
Sexualities?
Percy is bisexual, Oliver is gay.
What would they gift each other?
Percy would annotate a quidditch book and give it to Oliver or something hand made because he thinks it holds more value Oliver would (hah) take Percy places and anything his eyes linger on for too long he'd buy it for him.
What's your favourite AU with them? Least favourite?
Royal AU is my favourite, don’t have a least favourite
If they were in our era, would they have social media? Specify their use of it if yes
Percy would have barely any but maybe like Facebook or something where he'd occasionally post pictures with his family, Oliver would (I did it again) have more but mostly post about quidditch and sometimes Percy.
