Cameron (Cami) Deadbolt from my soon-to-be manga/webcomic No Chance in Hell
Photo study I did to work on backgrounds and lighting
You have not experienced true pleasure until a cat has laid it's soft, warm paws and/or chin on your fridgid feet and begn purring. I am the happiest person on this planet right now, no exceptions. (It is especially lovely if your cat is typically a small, furry demon like mine is)
Jonah Pendragon from No Chance in Hell, the manga i am working on.
i love in fantasy when its like “king galamir the mighty golden eagle and his most trusted advisor who would never betray him, gruelworm bloodeye the treacherous”
When my sister and I were kids we had this one action figure, who was actually a brutalized batman doll without his cape (the dog chewed half his head, too), who we dubbed ‘Evil Chancellor Traytor’. The idea was that in the fictional society of our toys, ‘chancellor’ just came with the word ‘evil’ in front of it, as a matter of ancient tradition. Like ‘grand’ or ‘high’ or something along those lines.
Anyway, the running gag was that the king (an old Power Rangers knock-off doll) had absolute and unwavering faith in Evil Chancellor Traytor, who basically comported himself like a mix between Grima Wormtongue and Jafar from the Aladdin movies. Everyone was always sure that Evil Chancellor Traytor had something to do with the nefarious scheme of the day. The dude even carried around a poisoned knife called ‘the kingslayer’.
The additional twist on the joke, though, was that he never was behind anything. The king was actually right. Evil Chancellor Traytor was the most devoted civil servant in the entire Action Figure Dystopia. He spent his nights working on writing up new legislature to ensure that broken toys had access to mobility devices, was always on the lookout to acquire new shoeboxes for expanding city infrastructure, and drafted a proposal that once got half the ‘settlement’ in my sister and I’s closet moved to the upper shelf so that vulnerable toys were less likely to be snatched up by the dog.
The knife, as it turned out, was as symbolic as the ‘evil’ in his name. See, Action Figure Dystopia had a long history of corrupted monarchs getting too big for their thrones and exploiting the underclasses. The job of the Evil Chancellor was to always remain vigilant, and loyally serve a good ruler - or, if the regent should became a despot, to slay them on behalf of the people.
But since killing the king would be a terrible crime, the Evil Chancellor had to be the kind of person who would willingly die to spare the people from the plight of a wicked leader; because the murder would be pinned on them, in order to keep the ‘machinery of politics’ working as smoothly as ever.
Anyway, Evil Chancellor Traytor had a diary, in which my sister I would take turns writing out the most over-the-top good shit he’d done behind the scenes. Usually after everyone else had finished talking shit about him. I don’t know why but we got the biggest kick out of being like:
Barbie With the Unfortunate Haircut: Oh that Evil Chancellor Traytor! Why can’t the king see how wicked he is?!
Charmander From the Vending Machine: Char!
Jurassic Park Toy of Jeff Goldblum With Disturbingly Realistic Face: At least if someone puts a knife in the king’s back, we’ll know where to look!
Evil Chancellor Traytor’s Diary: Today I was feeding ducks at the park when I noticed another legless action figure sitting by the benches. I put a hundred dollars into his bag while he wasn’t looking. I really need to increase budgeting to the medical treatment centers. If only we had enough glue, I think we would see far fewer toys trying to get by without limbs… *insert iconic evil laugh*
Anyway, Evil Chancellor Traytor eventually fell victim to one of my mom’s cleaning sprees, and she decided he was too busted up to keep and tossed him out. My littler brother, who tended to follow my sister and I’s games like he was watching a daily soap opera, cried so hard that we had to do a special ‘episode’ where one of the toys found the Evil Chancellor’s diary, and so he got a big huge memorial and the king threw himself into the empty grave and then ordered the toys driving the toy bulldozer to bury him so that ‘Traytor’s grave would have a body’ (this seemed very important for some reason).
And then we had the Quest For a New King. Somehow or another that ended up being a giant rubber snake called ‘Tyrant King Cobra’.
::closes tab, shuts off computer, and proceeds to have the best day ever just by knowing this exists::
i will always reblog Evil Chancellor Traytor
this is how children play
As an introvert, the best thing is finding someone who it isn’t draining to spend time with
It’s interesting trying to explain to people who don’t experience social exhaustion that there are some people who are less draining than others and then their are those who are mind numbingly exhausting. All socializing is not equal
Radical New Idea:
A female character who is a cold, relentless leader, always pragmatic, and able to make whatever hard decisions need to be made in order to ensure success and survival, tremendously skilled and devastatingly efficient at her job, tragically terrible at being overtly nice to people, who is also not evil and is still fundamentally a good person.
The Moral of This Post is: No matter how genius your idea is, Hiromu Arakawa probably already did it, and she did it better than you could ever hope to.
Trying my hardest to make my art look good
Trying to make art I feel is worth selling
Some more No Chance in Hell, but in chibi form
All the photos from the new wall, it’s amazing I swear- Unfortunately the light in there is not really good, but I did my best!

SU Spoilers for a Single pale rose incoming So, i've been thinking a lot about Pink Diamond and how she went from bratty little shit to bitter runaway in between her first and second appearences. Pink is a little brat in her first appearence, she sounds like a selfish todler who isn't getting their way. And in 'A Single Pale Rose' she seems bitter and angry. I've seen a lot of stuff over the past few days calling her selfish, and indicating that she is (and Rose by extension), a terrible person to her core. But... like, I don't think so. So I've been doing a lot of thinking as to why she ended up this way. As far as we can see, most gems aren't raised. They change, but the come out of the ground as a fully functioning person, not an overgrown baby. I doubt Pink emerged from the ground a little brat who throws a fit when she doesn't get her way. But when I think about it, Pink emerged from the ground, unaware of the society she was about to, more or less, rule to be greated by her fellow diamonds. And what is the most striking thing about her. She's small, she's overcooked. She's not right. Immediately after being born she is treated like she's a mistake. She learns what she is and how important she is, and she wants to be treated the same as the other diamonds. But, by this point I would expect she's already developed a complex about her inferiority, and being refused a colony isn't the diamonds making a good decision since she acts like a child; it's because she's worth less than them. They didn't even make her mural look like her. They spent her whole life pretending she was normal, ignoring her defect. When she came to them with concerns and opinions different from their own, when she tried to fight back (quietly, and without the involvement of her death) against colonizing earth, they brushed her off. Told her to grow up, to be the diamond she was meant to. So she's mad. Despite the fact that Blue and Yellow did care, she couldn't see it. Because her first intro to them was probably negativity at her imperfections. And she sees them as uncaring. Of course she doesn't think that they'll retaliate when she is killed. She thinks that they'll pull out all the remaining soldiers, or that they'll go back on their own. She thinks that they'll leave Earth behind because "who cares, it was just pinks planet." She wants the crystal gems, the gems like her, the weirdos, the defects, the imperfects, the rebels, to have a place. She wants them to live happily on Earth. And she wants to be free of the Diamonds, free of her title, free of the expectations that made her so diassapointing when she was first born. And we can't forget about the character development Rose went through either. During Greg's flashback we see Rose change. She's "playing along" she thinks its fun. Kinda like how she thinks staging her own death and rebeling against homeworld is exciting. But she changes, she becomes the rose we see in her videos, she becomes the Rose we all thought she was in the first season. Despite this, I don't think her decisions were good ones. I definitely don't think she went about it right. Staging her death was a dumb idea. The most inexcusable thing I think is leaving Pearl to deal with the weight of Pink's choices all alone for years. They never speak of it again. Pearl has to deal with all of her guilt and second-guessing quietly, without having anyone to help her, and then the only person who knows decides that now's a good time to not be herself at all anymore. And Pearl is left completely alone. I don't think Pink wasn't selfish, but I do think she had good intentions. And I do think she genuinely cared about the other crystal gems and the humans, and that she wanted them to be happy. She just never let go of her animosity towards her 'parents,' and never really took other people's emotions into consideration (until she met Greg). Good people do bad things sometimes. And I think Pink thought that the secrets she was keeping were for everyone's own sake. She didn't want to tell the others that Bismuth wanted to start killing people, so she never told them she had bubbled her. I'm not sure why she kept Lion a secret from Pearl, and I'd like to know. Honsetly, I'm excited to see how Steven handles this. I'm excited to see how the other gems handles this. I want to see how Rebecca Sugar sees Pink's decisions, and how it effects the rest of the show. I'm excited to see how this all ends. Also, this means that never once was Rose poofed. Because everyone would have known. Maybe that's why Pearl was always jumping in the way, to keep the secret.
