My mind will NOT let go of the idea of I Will Fall in Love With You Again as an Artham x Arundelle song. Specifically, this part:
"I will fall in love with you over and over again, I don't care how, where, or when, no matter how long it's been you're mine. Don't tell me you're not the same person, you're always my husband and I've been waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, oh, for you"
It's just so perfect for them and their story and the trauma and brokenness both of them have gone through, and I NEED there to be edits of them to this song once the show gets to those parts of the books. π
What are you reading rn, why are you reading it, and what format are you reading it in (physical book, ereader, on your phone etc)

can I add another one to the list?
Don't forget this lovely couple!
the only βdata centersβ we need are public libraries
Isn't that the truth?
Libraries are a beautiful institution. An ode to community, to literature, and to learning. They store so much knowledge, and they provide it for free, just like an ai chatbot does! Only it's different. Libraries still provide human connection, and instead of giving you everything immediately without any effort on your part, they invite you to come in, stay a while, and explore whatever it is your looking for on your own. It's not as easy, sure, but it's so, so rewarding.
Besides, what do these ai features and these data centers give us besides what appears to be the easy way out in certain contexts? There is no real connection. It certainly isn't doing any good for our ecosystems, weather, or natural resources, and studies are showing that it's just as detrimental to our brains.
As a human being, I cannot support giving away the ability to wonder, to ponder, to think freely, to cherish thought and word and learning, over to a machine incapable of truly caring. I cannot support losing our passion and joy in doing things just because having a chatbot do it all for us is "easier." The value and satisfaction of hard work and deep thinking cannot and should not be given up so carelessly.
As a writer, as a musician, as an artist, I cannot support "art" made without soul, without thought, without the human touch that brings life to true art and speaks from one heart to another. The world needs songs and stories and paintings that live and breathe, not pale imitations of true creation that lack everything that makes art truly good, beautiful, and human.
And finally, as a Christian, called to steward the earth by the Lord, I cannot in good conscience support AI, at least not as its current affect on our planet stands. Perhaps things may change for the better in the future, but I seriously doubt it. Certainly not with the way things are going right now. Even putting stewardship aside, I don't think so. In many ways I fear we are building yet another idol, another Tower of Babel for ourselves.
Please, anyone reading this, go outside. Look at the sky. Climb a tree. Study a leaf. Say hi to a neighbor. Visit your local libraries, bookstores, businesses, and gathering places. Listen to music. Watch a favorite movie. Try out a new hobby you've always wanted to get into. Read a book. Learn a new language. Travel the world. Say a prayer. Tell someone you love them. Pet a dog. Take a class you're interested in. Smile at a coworker. Log off the internet for a day. Go on a picnic. Write a letter. Watch a play. Read an encyclopedia. And I could go on and on. There are so many things you could do that ai cannot. There is so much good out there that ai cannot provide. The world is dark and heavy right now, I know that, but maybe, in these small ways, we can fight for something better. Maybe I'm not just talking about ai and its dangers anymore, but still. We still have voices, we still have souls, and we can still choose to think for ourselves and love our planet and its people and care for it all despite everything. And I, for one, intend to do just that.

On a non-Star Wars related note, however, I've been watching Apothecary Diaries lately, and Maomao has got to be one of my new favorite protagonists. She's amazing. π
Perhaps I'm just projecting, but I was wondering if anyone else sees her as possibly being neurodivergent? I'm only on season one, so it's possible my thoughts may change, but girlie has not given off neurotypical vibes at all as far as I've watched (not that that's a bad thing π)
Thoughts on modern/human Ahsoka being Blaisan?
I've been imagining her as mixed Black and Indian in my modern AU fics for a long time, but I haven't seen her imagined as Blaisan in anything else (at least not that I remember). So now I'm curious as to what you all personally headcanon her ethnicity as in modern/human AUs, if there's any particular reasons why you headcanon her that way (even if it's just vibes, I'd love to hear! <3), and if a Blaisan take on her sounds like something you'd be interested in seeing/reading. :)
The fanfic I'm currently drafting is scaring me, because what do you MEAN it's looking like I may have to kill off a character?! I know it's Star Wars, and this is just a fic, not canon, but... aaaaaaaaa I don't want to do it π
