remember during the final battle in endgame as steve was standing up to face thanos’ army on his own… and suddenly he hears sam’s voice, saying his name- hard to hear at first, but then it comes again, clearer this tine… like how must that have felt. To hear sam’s voice after five years of assuming him dead, five years of mourning and guilt because steve couldn’t save him… AND THEN hearing sam say “on your left” and turning to see the portals start to open, and all the people steve thought he failed reappear, alive and well, and sam flying out strong and beautiful like an angel… HOW MUST STEVE HAVE FELT IN THAT MOMENT.
