In a latest incident of vandalism against Islamic houses of worship, a Southern California mosque was firebombed by 23-year-old Carl James Dial Jr. Four or five people were praying inside the Islamic Society of the Coachella Valley when Carl threw a molotov cocktail at the mosque. Flames were reported just after noon; nobody was hurt and the fire was quickly put out, though it caused significant damage to the building.

Saudi-led air strikes have reportedly killed 19 Yemeni civilians in bombings of homes and a market - a day before a UN-brokered ceasefire is set to start ahead of peace talks to end eight months of war. Villagers in al-Hajawara in northern Hajjah province said multiple air bombings killed 12 people inside their homes and wounded 30 others. Residents in the southern district of Qabatiya said 7 civilians were killed in an attack on a market. A Saudi military spokesman could not be immediately reached for comment.

For decades astronomers have searched for a possible “Planet X” in the far outer reaches of our solar system, speculating that something big and dark may be lurking out there, its gravitational influence occasionally stirring up trouble in the orbits of the objects that we do see. There are major incentives to look: When astronomers sought a Planet X beyond Uranus in 1846, they discovered Neptune; when they looked for one beyond Neptune in 1930, they found Pluto.

In order to promote peaceful co-existence, tolerance and tranquility, a group in Germany has announced the building of the world’s first combined mosque-synagogue-church in the country’s capital, Berlin.
The facility will be a shared prayer space designed to bring together members of the three major Abrahamic monotheistic religions under one roof. Abrahamic religions are religions originating from the traditions of Iron Age proto-Judaism. The major ones are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. These religions trace their origin to the biblical Father of Abraham from Ur.

As even casual Star Wars fans will know, lightsabres are probably the coolest weapon ever to make an appearance on the big screen. Lightsabre fights are so elegant that they are almost hypnotic and, even though not all of us might have a strong enough flow of Force running through our veins, a lightsabre in the right hand is by far the deadliest weapon to be found in the universe.

“The internet is shit today. It’s broken. It was probably always broken, but it’s worse than ever.” My conversation with, Peter Sunde, one of the founders and spokespersons of The Pirate Bay, did not start out optimistically. There’s good reason for that: In the last couple of months, the contemporary download culture shows heavy signs of defeat in the battle for the internet.

On Monday, the leading presidential candidate for the Republican Party, Donald Trump proposed banning an entire group of people from the United States, based solely on their religious preference.
Even the neocons on the right and left were forced to make statements opposing his outlandish proposal. However, many people actually supported this tyrannical notion.
Former supporter of liberty at Infowars.com, Alex Jones put out a video Tuesday, supporting Trump’s plan, saying, “Donald Trump is right about saying that we need to ban Muslims coming into the nation until we get the Visa situation and the problem handled….because upwards of 25% (of Muslims) who’ve been polled say they sympathize with ISIS and want to conduct violent attacks in Europe and the United States.”

A spacecraft designed to study Venus's atmosphere that missed its target 5 years ago has apparently succeeded in entering an orbit around the planet, according to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). Mission controllers will confirm the trajectory in the coming days. The probe, named Akatsuki, was designed by JAXA's Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS) to peel away some of the mystery of Venus's dense, cloudy atmosphere.
But an engine malfunction during the craft's first rendezvous with Venus on 7 December 2010 sent it on a 5-year, 10-orbit trip around the sun. Engineers used the time to develop a scheme to insert the craft into orbit using four small attitude-control thrusters. JAXA reported that the thruster firing went as planned starting at 8:51 a.m. Japan time and that Akatsuki "is now in good health" and apparently circling Venus.

The “Rape of Nanjing” occurred in 1937, and represents one of the worst cases of genocide in recent history. Despite being well-documented by foreigners who were living there at the time, it is one of history’s great blind spots.
In fact, China only began holding the annual memorial last year, 13th December 2014, and Pearl Harbor probably remains the most well-known account of Imperial Japan’s wartime aggression.
The History Channel made a documentary covering some of the war crimes that were committed at the time, showing video footage, pictures and the accounts of locals, foreigners and Japanese soldiers (warning graphic footage including grotesque imagery and nudity)

More and more alternative media sites are basing content via YouTube to give their audience a visual perspective of the world around them without the worry of censorship. Mainstream media have been doing the same since the invention of television but with heavily controlled content.
