Pissed off a lot of people in a fandom I'm not even active in anymore by making the verifiably true statement that Jensen Ackles is not a strong enough actor to achieve the performance required for Brokeback Mountain. I was there in the theater, cringing my way through My Bloody Valentine 3D, wondering how anyone thought he was charismatic enough or believable enough to carry off a lead role in a B horror film, never mind something as demanding as BBM. Jensen is a fine network TV actor; he is charming, good looking, loves the physicality of his job, and has solid comedic timing. It is not "hating" on him to recognize that he has not put in the work his craft requires to successfully navigate more challenging roles, moreover, there's nothing wrong with picking a lane and staying in it. He's making money with the work that he's doing, and if that makes him happy, that's really all that matters.
