About Beldaruit & Qifrey & Coco relationship

*MANGA SPOILERS*

Qifrey's character development is:

Politely reprimanding Coco for running into danger in the first chapters.

Heaving a breakdown cause she keeps putting herself in danger.

Accepting she won't stay out of danger, so instead, he is helping her to make sure she is safe.

SO DO WE ALL AGREE THIS IS WHAT BELDARUIT WAS DOING WHEN HE AGREED FOR QIFREY TO TAKE COCO AS HIS APPRENTICE?

He acknowledged that he won't be able to stop Qifrey completely from chasing after Brimmed Caps so telling him "no" would be pointless. With Coco he has to give Beldaruit "reports" about Coco. As we see in chapter 35, at least according to Beldaruit, Qifrey told him a great deal about Coco and her situation.

(Beldaruit isn't necessarily very happy with the arrangement cause he wants Coco AND Qifrey to be safe so later he tries to steal Coco from Qifrey, but that's another story)

I can't stop thinking about what will happen after Coco's mom is saved.

I'm assuming it will happen by the end of the story and the political landscape will change by the time it happens.

THAT BEING SAID

Let's say Coco's mom is saved in the next chapter. Things can't just go back to normal. What happened to Coco's mom is not exactly a secret, and Beldaruit knows about it.

So Coco's mom is saved, she goes back to her saved home. The incident is probably erased from her memory. What happens to Coco?

Qifrey said it himself; if she wants her memories, she must be a witch. If she quits her apprenticeship, her memories of her found family would have to be erased.

But I don't think she would do that. Not when she cares so deeply about them. Not when she knows about Qifrey's condition, not with Custas out there somewhere. So she would probably stay at the atelier. But it's not like her mother wouldn't notice her daughter is gone. And she wouldn't be allowed to tell her, she is studying to become a witch. That has to be a secret. What would she tell her? And would this answer satisfy any good mother? Even visiting her mother from time to time would be dangerous. There is a risk of her mother adding 2 + 2 and figuring out Coco is a witch or simply not letting Coco go.

Would Coco be allowed to keep a relationship with her mother after saving her?

WOULD COCO HAVE TO BE ERASED FROM HER MOTHER'S MEMORY?

Did Coco even think about it?

I don't think Qifrey is prepared for his students getting older and thinking about their future career paths seriously. What if one of them considers becoming a teacher?

"Master, how did you know you want to be a teacher? I'm thinking about it too."

And he can't exactly answer "I thought teaching you guys would be a miserable experience"

(I wouldn't qualify this as a spoiler thing for anime onlys because these are my thoughts from the time I was reading manga and I was reading chapters already covered by the anime.)

After episode 8 I was expecting more theories about Qifrey's glasses from anime onlys? When he pointed out that a life of someone with visual impairment must be hard among witches, my first thought was "well, you are wearing glasses, my guy, and you don't look that old". And I already had milion theories about how this could influence his relationship with the witch society.

Qifrey probably took on apprentices expecting them to sneak out every three nights to a random location in the world after roulette spinning the window wheel, and instead the worst thing any of them have done is like stay up too late studying. No wonder he had to adopt Coco for his health.

My headcanon is that Qifrey absolutely despises Agott's mother. He would never admit it with Agott around, but one day they'll meet and he won't even try to dress up in his smiley and friendly persona.

Olruggio was having a normal day three hours ago. He was coming home after a long day at work looking forward to seeing his husband best friend and eating a warm dinner. Pat the kids on the head and then go lie down. NO Qifrey says I have obtained another child she's a part of an active criminal investigation and a sign that I am dipping back into my worst destructive behaviors that you thought I'd set down years ago you have to be okay with this right now or else I'll lobotomize myself. Also there's a rat in the living room.
