It felt as though she couldnt sleep that night knowing fully well she was invited for dinner at the Fumekage's household, tossing and turning with excitement until morning came.

Ochako was dead tired and decided for the first time in a while coffee was needed to wake herself up, and indeed that's what she did.

Heading down to the shared kitchen area hoping someone already beat her too it, she decided to take out her phone to shoot a quick text to her lovely friends.

'Hey are we still on for dinner tonight, and if so should I bring something?'

Not wanting to rush them with a reply, she made it to the kitchen but with no coffee made so she would have to make it even though she was more of a milk tea person.

Fumikage took the coins and pulled enough money from his wallet to cover the cost of a single package of cumin peanuts.

Before long, they had reached the front of the line. Fumikage placed their order and took the white paper package before leading the way out of the line.

The spicy aroma wafted through the air, making his mouth water. And it appeared he wasn't the only one who was regretting skipping lunch. A familiar presence appeared by his right hip, lingering inside his jacket.

"Did you get some for me, too?"

He frowned and whispered, "You know you aren't supposed to come out in public, Shadow."

"But Ochako's here! And I smelled food!"

"You don't even have a stomach. Why are you so infatuated with food?"

As she managed to put a small amount in her hand so she wouldnt have to keep reaching over for more, Ochako tossed one into her mouth savoring the flavor as she found it delightful.

Getting ready to toss another one while waiting for their train she couldnt help but over hear Tokoyami and Shadow talking.

"Dark Shadow I was wondering when I'd see you!" Not trying to pull to much attention towards them, she kept her voice normal but was happy to see him. Thinking about what Tokoyami said, she felt herself growing curious.

"So Dark Shadow can eat without a stomach, that's so interesting."

“We aren’t quite sure how he does it.”

Hoping to appease his quirk, Fumikage deposited a few nuts into Dark Shadow’s open mouth, still inside his jacket. He made a mental note to make sure Uraraka received half the peanuts, no matter how many Shadow eventually consumed. 

He popped one into his own mouth. “The taste is just as good as the aroma.”

A bell chimed over the loudspeaker, followed shortly by a voice announcing the arrival of their train. Fumikage adjusted the bag on his shoulder and glanced at Uraraka, ensuring that she was ready to head that way.

Quickly throwing back the few left over in her hand while chewing slowly to savor each bite, she stood up following Tokoyami's lead shouldering her denim bag too.

"How long does the train ride usually take when you're going home? For me it's usually three hours with one transfer halfway there."

Standing in line waiting to board as people filed out quickly, Ochako kept herself at his side not to get separated. The crowd wasnt as bad as a Friday night but to those not use to riding it looked crammed.

He followed the line onto the train and found a seat.

"The house isn't far. About 30 minutes." He sat down and brushed off the seat next to him for Uraraka. "That must have been quite a commute before we moved into the dorms."

Of course, Fumikage had known that his classmates could theoretically have come from all over the country. UA was the top hero school in Japan, after all. But he had never stopped to consider just how far these high schoolers had to travel for their education.

Appreciating the gesture of him brushing off her seat before sitting down, Ochako looked up trying to recall how she felt commuting daily.

"There were times when some of the girls were kind enough to let me stay with them for a few days but, I felt as though I was mooching sometimes."

As people piled into the train once the bell chimed once more stating they would seen be leaving and for everyone to quickly get onto the train, Ochako leaned towards the two cupping her mouth.

"I dont regret continuing my studies though, I've gotten to meet great people and even make friends like Shadow and you."

Shes never felt told anyone how she felt or her normal commute hours as she didn't want others to fuss over her like certain friends who let her stay did.

Fumikage didn't face Uraraka, but looked her over though the corner of his eye. She had always seemed so cheerful and determined, but was it possible she had been quietly struggling all this time?

Friends.

The word bounced around in his head. It was one thing to think of someone as a friend to himself and another to hear the other person say it aloud.

The train started moving and Fumikage felt himself lurch slightly from the inertia. When he found equilibrium, he held the package of nuts out for her.

"I am glad to have met you, as well."

Hearing that made her feel, relieved? Almost taking an edge off of the way she built herself up to act around people, but at the same time never letting it crumble down at all. Reaching out with a small thanks as she took some more of their treat, Ochako tried her best to smuggle a few to Shadow who still peeked out from his jacket from time to time.

As they reached the first stop allowing people to weeve in and out of each others way, she waited for the lurch of the train to soon come.

"Hey Tokoyami, I know I'm going to meet your family here soon but, what are they like?"

Being an only child with two hardworking parents, Ochakos home was usually quiet throughout the week unless her cousins came by to pass the time with her on those lucky days. Without realizing it from a young age she's always been curious to know what it's like to have siblings.

Absentmindedly, Fumikage began fiddling with the zipper of his jacket. How should he describe them?

"My sister, Saku, is an anthropologist who travels much of the year studying the religions of different cultures. She can be abrasive, but she seems to do well socially."

Saku was one thing, but she wasn't the one Fumikage was worried about.

"My father is... not the most personable man. He will most likely be polite at the table, but you may not see much of him after he has finished eating."

This made her more curious than ever with that statement, trying hard to imagine their looks and if he shared resemblance to any members. She looked almost exactly like her mother when she was younger and the only thing she felt that she got from her father was his attitude on life.

"Your family sounds very educated though and dedicated to their beliefs. As long as they dont see me as an issue everything should go smoothly."

Giving him a smile as they grew closer to their destination, Ochako steeled her nerves as the trained slowed down.

Fumikage could feel a gentle warmth growing in his chest. It was nice to be able to talk to someone like this, about his life. A small smile formed on his beak, even as he avoided looking at Uraraka's face.

The train stopped, and he cleared his throat and stood. "Its just a short walk from here." He pulled out his phone and checked the time. "We're right on schedule."

He shoved his hands into his pockets and waited to make sure Uraraka was ready to go.

Shouldering her bag close to her as they finally walked off the train into the station, she did a quick check with her items and seeing that everything was still there beamed up.

"Lead the way! I cant wait to finally meet your family."

Her heart started beating fast again as she once more willed her nerves away, but as Tokoyami started walking she followed almost glued to his side.

"So has anyone else from out class ever met your family before?"

She couldnt remember the last time her feet touched the soft grass, being able to lay in it and just being able to run through mid-waist flowers. Her parents left her locked high up in the tower they kept hidden away in the thick thicket of trees and overgrown bushes on her thirteenth birthday l, promising to come back once she turned seventeen yet here Ochako was turning nineteen without any trace of family to claim her.

The pages torn from her favorite poetry book 'Love Sonnet' kept her mind wondering and full of imagination, just waiting for the day someone finds her and sets her free. Ochako has spent countless nights wishing she could just float down below with ease, but it was nothing more then a dream she desperately wished true.

Knocking at his door with candles being the only light source, as the door opened Ochako beemed.
