The festivities were much tamer than the days prior, and for that, the doctor was grateful. He sat cross-legged in the grass, enjoying a sandwich through the opening in his mask.

He hadn't done as much socializing as he'd hoped, not finding many leads for his investigation anyway. Once or twice, he'd had a nice chat, but otherwise he was on his own for most of the event. He was beginning to worry about missing opportunities for gathering information.

Instead, he sat at the local bar, taking a swig of his mead as he thought back to the deer in rehab he left at home. He hoped they were doing alright.
