Rey Darling could only think of it as the last day of her life. Her mother had been unwilling to hear her protests, and her father had disappeared like a will-o-the-wisp, gone away on the air, only to be called back by a dark night or a fairy ring. She knew he had not been in agreement with what was about to happen, but the will of her mother and the desperate need to improve their station had overridden them. It was then a horrible truth she had yet to accept: she was to be married.
βSomeone you know?β
βYeah,β Rey sighed, slapping the magazine shut and tossing it into the bin.
βAnd?β
βWe slept together the night before we graduated and I never heard from him again,β
βOuch,β Lima said, sipping on the iced green tea sheβd made for herself.

Rey left her home city of Coruscant seven years ago to work with a beauty company in Jakku, miles away. Now sheβs back in Coruscant, and as a favor from a friend, sheβs been hired at the largest tech company in the city. It doesnβt take her long to find her footing, and sheβs given an offer to become the executive assistant to the CEO. Little does she know, her new boss is her first love, and heβs engaged to be married to one of Coruscantβs biggest starlets. Oh, and, seven years ago, she dumped him.
Kylo Ren has only ever known war. From the time he was a young boy, he has been trained only to fight and to kill. Back from another skirmish, recently knighted and granted large holdings of land, Ren finds his life markedly more complicated when heβs forced to deal more frequently with the dealings at court. Unexpectedly, he is pushed into a new position and somewhat against his will, he is forced into service of the queen: Rey.
After the events of The Last Jedi, the crew is sent to the outer edges of the galaxy to search out and rekindle old (and new) alliances. They are trapped in an odd galactic storm and crash into an even stranger planet, where Rey is divided from the rest of the group. Sheβs still dreaming about Ben, haunted by their previous connection.
