I've seen "fuck the beauty industrial complex" posts about complicated skincare regimens and am 100% with them except sometimes they mention sunscreen and no. no. absolutely not. sunscreen is a wonderful supportive friend who wants to keep you safe, and you should let her do it. throw out all your other cosmetics and skincare products if you want, but keep your sunscreen. and if you're not wearing sunscreen, start wearing it!!!! this is not about terror of aging, this is not about every tiny imperfection our fucked-up culture has made you feel insecure about, this is about protecting yourself from skin cancer. wear the damn sunscreen.

“almost 1 year is a lil too much for me” fuck off. fanfic writers don’t owe you anything. one of my favorite fics was updated after 13 years, and what I did is that I thanked the author for choosing to continue the work, I didn’t act like a spoiled toddler by asking why they didn’t update sooner. and even if a writer chooses to abandon their fic permanently with no explanation, that is their choice, their hobby, their decision. they don’t owe your entitled ass anything.
you people let tiktok rot your brains to the point you see everything as content farm and engagement. not a piece of art created by the artist’s love and passion. it’s dystopian.
If you want to engage with fandom as a community but are overwhelmed by the writing of it all, my advice is to start small. Write a one paragraph ficlet/drabble and post it to tumblr. Describe a setting, or a bit of character inner monologue, or write a snapshot of a bigger scene in your head. This might seem like it's just "posting headcanons to tumblr" but if you take the time to look at your sentence structure, edit your word choices, fix typos, and make adjustments to make the writing more compelling or the characters more vivid, that is literally creative writing. Next time, make it two paragraphs. Maybe add a few lines of dialogue. Take a scene from canon and extend it for 500 words. Try to engage with or expand upon an emotion that you noticed in canon. I bet someone else is compelled by this idea too. You don't have to write a 100k fic to engage with other people in fandom. Short form is a valid form of writing practice and will build your muscle. Even if one person likes it or replies to it with their own thoughts, you've reached someone.

That mother... the female family head, Ystride de Caulignont, married another aristocratic man and bore Rielle.
Unbeknownst to her, her groom was a member of a radical faction of heretics who had drunk dragon blood...
A few years later, after having finished secretly leaking information gained in the Caulignont family to the heretics, the man drank more dragon blood and fully transformed into a dragon, and tried to kill his family.
However, his plan to kill them was foiled by elite knights but... knowing that her daughter had that man's- that dragon's- blood, Ystride locked up her daughter.
