Guardian Diary: Entry #3

Oblation third mission got me like:

those blood curling screams, the ghost reviving the guardian over and over just to get killed few seconds later to feed the forge for the hive for their arsenal.. They've been doing this for years, that meant she had been killed for over million times.

it's so fucked up and so dark, but so cool that they let the dev free roam like that. It's a shame that the game ended as well with this fucked up story/mission. This happening during the joyous moment of earth's guardian as well.

Guardian: If the XI are paracausal, gained sentience from the Traveler, then got stuck in the Solar system, got given a higher amount of Sentience, almost into Sapience, and If all of this is true, which we are going only by the word of things that lied to Bael, then, normally, they wouldn't have played 5D chess.

Ghost: I do agree that it is a rather odd way to go about it.

Guardian: Right? Okay, and if we continue that logic, why would they, if they were truly beings of large power, allow humans to get this far? How did they not care that one of their number was destroyed? And if they knew, and if they did not want us to find it, and IF they can communicate, why wouldn't they have bodies similar to Lodi already lined up?

Ghost: The last one is more about the type of body needed for channeling.

Guardian: yet, we, a body that has its mind wiped and then told to be champions of what is good, is?

Ghost: I think the blank slate you're saying is more of what they want, but I can see the weirdness.

Guardian: Obviously, I have been breaking best laid plans for quite some time, but I want to say I think they messed up when choosing me.

Ghost: They can't take a Glimmer eating Guardian?

Guardian: Can you be serious and listen? I'm saying I and my other guild mates have broken through the bindings of reality, and they are scared, so they threaten things by trying to escape.

Ghost: And we have a plan to stop them?

Guardian: Half of a plan. The other half is what to do afterwards.

Guardian Diary: Entry #2

Finally tried the new Pantheon. And boy.. do we get our ass kicked, HARD. The first bosses was a walk in the park. We clear it in just one hour, including intermissions!

so we moved on to the next.. although, we are very familiar with these raids, but boy.. they revamped it to the max. War Priest was a mighty challenge, because the knight spawns quickly and we often killed him by mistake and didn't carry the buff.

Then the next, the 2nd and 3rd encounter of Garden of Salvation. My beloved raid. It's a test of communication and focus, especially for the runner. I hate that you have to do all things at once. Shoot the eye by yourself, making sure the ads is controlled, and don't forget to bank the motes! ON TOP OF THAT- The fricking boss moved so fast during DPS! I think this is the longest encounter from the entire raid.

Then Morgeth.. Thankfully I got the easiest role, claiming the taken strength 2 times if possible, then get transported the first with my cleanser. So basically, I was a glorified ad clear with extra steps. But boy.. Morgeth last stand was unforgiving. THERE'S JUMPING PUZZLE BEFORE YOU ABLE TO DAMAGED HIM.

Unlike in the normal Last Wish, where you get transported to a jumping puzzle for Riven's last stand, if someone makes it, it'll transported everyone with them. NOT HERE! if you fall, you done. If you don't make it in time from the jumping puzzle, Morgeth will wipe you out. IT WAS A CHORE. And we didn't even bother to put a single feat on. Oh brother...

and mind you, we did it in the dead of the night into the dawn. We are already tired, tilted, and sleepy. How we managed to pull these off, is... admirable imo.

Ghost: Maybe its because you spent your Glimmer instead of eating it.

My Destiny journey started alone, and after years of meeting people, joining clans and planning raids, that's also, strangely, how it ended.

However, Destiny has saved me in so many ways. It's a game that has helped me consistently over the years, and has shaped the person and the artist I am today. Through the community I've met amazing people I can now call my friends. And for this, I am grateful 🤍

With Monument of Triumph, we set out to create a series of love letters to Guardians, new and old. We shared a preview last week of armor inspired by early designs from the original Destiny but have also sprinkled some winks and nods throughout the rewards releasing tomorrow.
