Chapter 11 (ItaFushi Quotes) The one where Yuji misses Megumi
Fic: I Know the End by 3sopogirl on Ao3 Itâs a slow-burn, canon-compliant romance told from Itadoriâs POVâbasically, Yuji thirsting over Megumi Fushiguro while trying (and failing) to keep it subtle.
He ran to his room, Sukunaâs cruel words echoing in his mind: Weak. So disgustingly weak. The moment he shut the door, he slid to the floor, pressing his back against it. Hugging his bent legs, he buried his face in his knees. He felt like a little kid again. Megumiâs absence had unearthed things he thought heâd buried long ago.Â
If he could have cried Megumi back, he would have, for there was less water in rivers carrying far bigger ships.
---
Yuji had thought everything would be fine when Megumi told him back at the hotel that he hadnât done anything wrong, that he wouldnât lose him. And it wasnât as if Yuji had believed him right away, like Gojo had said. He wanted toâgod, he wanted toâbut something still felt off. Heâd tried to reassure Megumi, telling him not to worry about whatever was going on with Nobara. Their friendship would always come first, heâd said.
And still, Megumi left.
Did those who left you teach you how to leave?
---
Nobara grabbed her laptop and opened a folder labeled Weekend Trip, Tokyo: The Boys.
âTell me, what do you see?â she asked, showing him the photos of him and Megumi from the past weekend. Heâd already seen them all on her digicam, but he lingered over each one. He missed him. He hadnât seen his face since Saturday. How was it that ten days with him had gone by so fast, yet even a single hour without him felt like weeks?
âMegumi,â he said at last.Â
Weak. So disgustingly weak. And pathetic.
âYes. Megumi⊠and you. Now, what is Fushiguro doing? Or rather, where is he looking?â
âIn which picture?â Yuji asked, confused.
âYuji, come on. All of them.â
He stared at the photos as she scrolled through them one by one.
