Not all mysterious? He begs to differ. Everything about Kanata screams its mystery. From his lips, to the words that flow past them, he is every bit of a curious little accident. And Kaoru’s falling right into it, welcomes it and despite how nervous he wants to be about the nature of this visit. He has to find out, has to confirm that there will never be that electrical current, that spark, between another man.
His thoughts a mess, he hides it well as he plucks up the drink Kanata makes him and swirling it acts as if he’s in control of himself. He hums out as he swirls the drink, lifts it to his lips and samples a sip. It’s in those moments he decides to act. The lingering taste of the beverage along his lips he sets it down, fingers casually reaching out to tickle along Kanata’s chin. Maybe the faint hints of nervousness lingering as he traces down the contours of Kanata’s face, leans in while locking eyes and pushes himself to gently press lips to the male’s own.
How does a man’s lips feel? On the inside he’s in turmoil, on the outside he acts as if he means every ounce of what he pours into that kiss. There’s some form of energy lingering behind what is unexplored. A softness that conforms to his very own and despite the lingering mix of their beverages on each of their lips he finds an unwanted excitement tugging at him the second their lips meet. He moves them carefully along Kanata’s own, acting so very confident even though he’s coming undone at the seams.
He realizes in shock that he likes how perfect Kanata’s lips fit to his own, the warmth that spreads further than his own lips and sends a current from head to toe. Thoughts race through his mind, but he’s not sure what their about because Kanata makes it so easy to pull him from that. It’s never happened before. With a girl, a pretty face and a name, he can think about anything while trying to make her happy, but this?
He forces himself to pull back, the break of contact gentle, though there’s sheer confusion lingering in his gaze as his eyes flutter open and he almost forgets to breathe.
❝Well, that’s how I think you did,❞ he finally remembers to talk, cheeks flushed, not mixing with his tone as he feels himself faltering with his confidence and flirting. Why can such a simple kiss hold such a powerful pull? It makes no sense, and deepens the mystery on why he can even feel such a way when this man before him is a stranger. Someone who wears the face of anyone to please them for the night because they paid premium to come in here.
He knows it’s right, but it doesn’t stop him from wanting to find out more.
It’s not hard to just go with the flow of a situation, even if the turn of events themselves hadn’t been expected. As Kaoru’s hand reached out to him, Kanata leaned into the touch, angling his head a bit as gentle fingers passed over his skin, tracing his face. The glass he held was set aside, out of the way, as Kanata allowed himself to be guided into a kiss.
From the way Kaoru had reacted downstairs, Kanata had figured he was curious but hadn’t expected him to move so quickly as to steal a kiss already. Perhaps it was more than just simple curiosity that had brought Kaoru to the club tonight...
The kiss itself is nice, more than nice. Kaoru is careful as he moves. And Kanata finds himself pressing closer just that little bit more, rather enjoying the feeling of closeness.
He doesn’t have much time to consider the ‘spark’ he feels, it’s comforting almost, like Kaoru’s presence, before the blond is pulling away. The way Kanata’s eyes have become half-lidded makes it so that he sees the confusion in Kaoru’s eyes immediately after.
Settling back into his seat, Kanata blinks a few times, thoughts racing for a moment as he waits to see how Kaoru would react to his own actions. He did look very cute with that blush high on his cheeks though, Kanata noted.
Contrary to the word of mouth and rumours about these ‘private sessions’, what the employees here sold wasn’t their bodies for a night of physicality - it was companionship. The stories they could tell from the things they’ve heard, but it was an unwritten agreement that nothing that was said or done within these rooms would be repeated to another. It was basically a bond of trust.
A guest placed their trust in the employee when they accepted to follow them into a room, it was cordial to honour that trust.
With another gentle smile on his lips, Kanata laughed, delighted, “I am glad my [drink] was good enough for Kaoru~ I do not have as much [experience] as the bartenders downstairs, so thank you for [indulging] me~”
Getting up, Kanata reaches for Kaoru’s hand and pulls him out from behind the bar, leading him over to the long sofa and sitting him down. He presses a soft kiss to Kaoru’s cheek before heading to a hidden cabinet and retrieving a blanket, fiddling with the lighting controls and dimming them, the brighter blue lights giving way to a softer tone, a more soothing shade.
Once satisfied, Kanata carries over their drinks to place on the low table before the sofa and to sit next to Kaoru, spreading the blanket over their shoulders, gently bumping his bare shoulder against Kaoru’s clothed one with a giggle. It was much cooler in this room where it was just the two of them in comparison to the body heat that made the dance floor and main club below feel so much hotter.
“[Soy sauce] is my favourite thing to put in [food],” Kanata said, making good on his promise to tell Kaoru a bit about himself. “I used to [eat] rice with just [soy sauce] when I was [younger]~ But I think eating it with [fish] is the best~~”
