This is my first post on here, so I thought I should tell you about my book! I’m on mobile at the moment, so I’ll just tell you what it includes:
Potions
Found family
Slow burn romance
Friends to lovers
Mystical creatures from mythology all around the world
A flock of crows
Harm of prejudice
Vast world building
An entire revolution
Sarcasm. Lots of sarcasm.
Cultural representation that grows as the series prolongs
Plot twist
“We all thought you were dead but here you are” tropes
"i think", i say, about my own ocs, who i made,
“my headcanon is…” i say about the canon that i made about my own characters
And all of this at once.
Feeling inspired... Might put off writing and think about it the whole time

How my writing process looks to anyone who doesn't write
That feeling of having an idea for a new story, opening the document with excitement and writing before forgetting the idea that is actually very good..... then saving the document only to see it become part of the limbo of countless documents full of good ideas that I don't have time to work on.

I can't count how many times I've researched a word because I don't know exactly what it means, only vibes
waiter! waiter! more characters grieving something they can't even remember please!
My character when he thinks he’s grieving his newly dead sister but also his best friend/gf just erased herself from his memories to try and save the world alone 🥲
Non-writers never seem to understand the fact that characters have free will.

Sigh. Writer culture is looking at your old writing and wondering why you were so much better at describing the setting then and also trying to remember what it was even about.

Anyway what I’m trying to say is that I would marry the em dash if I could
Writing betrayals is always amazing but I also wanna tear out my throat and die at the same time :’). Reasons for this:
1) It hits every time
2) It hits every time
Love to, as an author, leave little crevices in my works that the readers can fill with their things. Not plot holes, just things ambiguous enough for them to create theories and head cannons and debates around even if I don’t agree with the theories myself or they aren’t true in my mind
FUCK.
I just realized that in order to write the book that is currently only character boards and vague ideas I’ll have to write ANOTHER BOOK FIRST (at least in my head/completely outlined) which, if ever actually written, will be a prequel. I do a weird mix of outlining and coming up with ideas on the fly (ie., waiting for the vision to occur) so this is HORRIBLE NEWS

Update: the prequel itself now needs a prequel.
