hug your family, tell them you love them, you never know what will happen tomorrow… that’s all I can think about right now. I am so lucky because my family is safe and didn’t get hurt, but people I knew didn’t have the same luck </3 I know watching news on my phone 24/7 isn’t healthy at all, and I know it’s starting to mentally hurt me so much. But it feels like, if I stop engaging with it, I’m abandoning them. Does that make any sense? I don’t know orz

I texted my dad yesterday, we don’t have the greatest relationship but I really wanted to check on him and tell him I love him. I also asked him if he’d like to come with me to Venezuela, if he’d like to travel together and stay with family, be there for them. Unfortunately even if I wanted to, I don’t have the funds to travel there yet. I’d have to save up at least 2000€. And the main airport is pretty much destroyed, flights there are arriving in another smaller airport in another city but it’s just so complicated. Dad also said it might not be the adequate time to be traveling right now

logically all I feel at times is impotence, uselessness. I’m used to feeling useless, it’s just something that I feel every now and then. And if I’m being honest, drawing fanart helped me cope with this feeling for months, but then this tragedy hits my country, and all I can spare to draw is Venezuela related

what happened still feels unreal to me. The world keeps spinning and the time passes but I’m stuck there. I’m debating if I should take a break from social media. But I don’t know if I’d be able to do that

in case you haven't heard, parts of venezuela were recently hit by a series of earthquakes, affecting communities across the country.

as venezuela is my home country, all of this hits especially close to home. thankfully, my family and loved ones are safe since they were in cities not as severely affected. however, many others have not been as fortunate and are now facing the aftermath of these events.

years of political and economic instability have left many communities with limited resources and infrastructure, making it even more difficult to respond to emergencies like this. there are reports of people who remain missing, and many families are still waiting for news about their loved ones. rescue efforts have been made even more difficult by shortages of equipment, ambulances, and other emergency resources needed to respond to a disaster of this scale.

if you're able to, please consider sharing information, supporting verified relief efforts, or simply helping spread awareness about what is happening.

The majority of my family lives in the capital city, Caracas. Everyone is safe and I’m so relieved. But there are so many missing people and deceased💔 Some of them are friends of my friends. As an immigrant, I haven’t been in my country for 7 years. All I feel right now is impotence, I just wish I could do more to help my people. Please pray for my country

Hundreds of buildings are collapsed. People lost their homes, their businesses, their family members. The main airport received serious damage and is currently closed. And all I can think of is my family and how much I wish I could just fly there and hug them. And the fact I’m unable to do so genuinely breaks my heart
