one of my all time favorite movies
reading Carmilla for the first time, this book is even gayer than i ever would think possible. i thought the lesbian subtext was gonna be, well, subtext, but no this is just TEXT

EXPEDITIOUSLY
the thing you need to understand about carmilla countess karnstein is that she is a loser. she's absolutely drowning in blood bitches but she has to be because she is an immortal vampire noble who gets by on flirting her way into continual couch surfing. she has no job no house no car and no money. she sleeps all the way through the morning. she hears people singing and it pisses her off so bad that she needs her bestiecrush to hold her hand until she calms down. she's violently classist and loves to use the "wait until I tell my rich dad about this" line but, crucially, her rich dad is dead as fuck and has been for all living memory. she's a serial monogamist and she's fucking coasting on pretty privilege.
rereading dracula after reading carmilla for the first time really makes me appreciate carmilla's efficiency in securing a place. dracula had to deal with all the logistics of the housing market meanwhile carmilla just crashed her car on someone's lawn and she got a cushy guest room and a girlfriend out of it. carmilla the woman you are
“I have been in love with no one, and never shall,” she whispered, “unless it should be with you.”
just read carmilla for the first time and fell in LOVE
Tame Impala - Dracula
actual perfection.
Forever a "I understand" with a constant heavy heart.
'Bats' by Edward Gorey
I need something very gothic and lesbian to happen to me soon... preferably in a castle, abandoned cathedral or dark forest
