I've been thinking of creating this page since the first day I found myself alone, in a house which was not mine, after discovering the first patient COVID-19 in my ward and consequently moving away from my loved ones.
Shortly thereafter Italy was called ′′ red zone ′′ and everyone was put on lockdown, while WHO declared the pandemic status.
For obvious reasons I didn't have time or energy to draw as much as I wanted, busy as I was facing shifts at work, fear, tiredness, crying crises and sometimes even hysterical despair.
Even if moments of crisis have not been missed, the idea of being able to tell one day what we have experienced (and are still facing) has given a purpose to this absurd period, at paradoxical and absolutely extreme traits, giving me the strength to face the loneliness and to avoid nervous breakdown.
I'm taking a week off to process all this, thenafter - if Coronavirus allows me - I'll try to complete my sketches and post one drawing a week.
I want to tell our story - mine and my colleagues', but also many of my compatriots' - because what happened to us could happen to anyone in the world if you make the same mistakes.
Meanwhile… STAY SAFE, STAY TUNED!
