What would happen if your city recieved -40 C weather for a week?

Option One: “Today is a day of mourning,” the president reads out, looking solemn. “Today, we mourn the hundreds of people who have perished in the cold, and our hearts go out to those still trapped in disaster areas with no heat or electricity.”

Option Three: “Breaking News: 5 fatalities from freak winter cold wave”

Option Two: “…I think I’m going to stay inside and put some wood on the fire.”

Option Three: “Oh, shit, that’s cold. Well, at least we have heat. Electricity bill’s gonna be crazy. Hey, Mom, do you have anyone with you? God, the drive to work’s gonna be hell.”

An Idea I had for a poll today was about Stick Shift vs Automatic, so either for the car someone own/drives most frequently etc. . An option could be added for electric I guess, because electric can’t be stick shift.

I guess it could also be interesting to differentiate between continents for this, in Europe for example stick are quite common compared to other continents. But you have more experience about whether that would overload the question!

I'm in a bit of a bind.

There's a girl I like who's in the same class as me in college, and I want to ask her out. The problem is that we're currently working together on a semester-long group project with other people.

If I ask her out now, it could mess with the group's chemistry and make it difficult to work together. Professionally speaking, this is a very important project for me, as well as for the rest of the group, and I don't want to fuck it up for any of us. I also don't want anyone else in the group to suffer or have to deal with our emotional baggage, since it wouldn't be fair to them.

The problem is that the group project is until the last couple weeks of the semester. I could ask her out then, but we both have finals, and it would be hard to schedule. We also wouldn't really have a chance to date for all that long before summer arrives and we leave school (we live in separate regions of the US, so we wouldn't be able to see each other over the summer).

I could also wait for next year, but I don't know if I can bring myself to wait that long. I also know she's on dating apps looking for people now, and while I don't have a lot of confidence in dating apps in general, a part of me still worries she'll find someone on there in the meantime.
