it’s been said before but the sliding scale of internalized homophobia with black sails characters will never not be funny. max makes her money sleeping with men but at the end of the day she exclusively likes women and that’s just How It Is. every one of eleanor’s relationships ends poorly and it never has anything to do with homophobia (internalized or otherwise), she just can’t stop betraying the people she loves regardless of gender. anne definitely struggles for a bit (see: murder) but recognizing that she can like women without losing her bff/almost husband/fwb/soulmate significantly eases that transition for her. flint seems to have somewhat accepted his sexuality, but more so on the grounds of loving thomas than loving men as a whole, and I doubt he’d ever entertain the idea of having another man romantically or sexually.
