Happy Birthday, Shane Alexander Madej!
Sooo we are collectively appreciating the pretty cryptid man today and I want to say some things too. :D
A thing I really really love about Mr Madej is his complete lack of toxic masculinity - he has an incredibly beautiful energy to him that I would not necessarily describe as feminine but as a soft, gentle sort of masculinity, and that’s very very attractive.
He tends to be awkward with showing affection sometimes but he is genuine with it. He is supportive, kind, compassionate, and caring.
We all know that he is the king of not giving any fucks and that also applies to wearing and doing things that are traditionally seen as “feminine”. We have seen him in lipstick, in a chearleader outfit, in high heels. (And listen, I have Feelings about those high heels and how he moves in them but also, how dare you. As if you are not tall enough already! Hnghgn ✨legs✨.) We have seen him with flowers, with rainbow suspenders, and good Lord, he looks lovely wearing pink.
I love his wonderful smile when his eyes get small, I love how he sometimes holds his hand in front of his mouth, I love his soft voice. And for such a tall man, he is so non-threatening.
I love his stories and characters. They are always fun and entertaining and full of hilarious jokes but they also regularly end up in Emotional Territory and leave you full of feelings and with a warm heart.
It is heartwarming to see how he talks about Sara. It is heartwarming to see that he is completely comfortable with saying I love you to his male friends. It is heartwarming to see how much he cares, even if he claims to be uncomfortable with feelings and introspection (and you can’t tell me that this guy is not self-aware).
In short, you are such a beautiful soul, Shane Madej, you are so comforting, and oh, you are gorgeous. Happy birthday to our chapstick-wielding, puppet-making, movie-loving noodle man. 💖
