one of the many stupid things I fell for when I was in my late teens and early 20s was the exact same thing happening now politically, and it's depressing living long enough to see history repeating...because there should be tens of millions of people who were also there, and should also remember, but they do not.
Bush was a hitler, he was a fascist, he did 9/11, he invaded multiple countries on a complete lie--openly fabricating evidence of WMDs--so him and Sith Lord Cheney could enrich themselves and their corporate sponsors. The PATRIOT act wiped its ass with the Constitution and set the stage for the modern mass surveillance state while also allowing the government to do essentially whatever it wanted so long as it invoked the specter of terrorism.
No one trusted anything the government said, statistics from any given agency were approached with the idea they were bullshit, the corporate connections with every nominee were revealed and questioned...
...and then Obama won and the Government began working for us again. The time for questioning was over. Those nominees with copious corporate ties are the best people for the job, you Nazi. Those kids in cages had parents who shouldn't have come here illegally, fascist. Yeah you have to drone strike a few weddings you retard, we're fighting a WAR.
Also lmao I actually completely forgot Dementia Joe had a term tucked in between the Trump presidencies. Trump so totally dominated the news all four years of that corpse's term that it's as if he never even served. But in that madness you still saw the media running intense cover for the administration, and the public still tried to pretend the man was conscious most of the time.
