“Don’t you go to the laughin’ place…”
Here we go again... ✨ Only one application this round. Two positions I have a legitimate interest in. This round of applications will be VERY different from last time. Stay tuned for more... ✨
Make a wish, and do as dreamers do. ✨
I visited this wonderful building again today! I am officially checked into my Professional Internship. I do have to go through Traditions again on Saturday, which is kind of odd since I completed Traditions not even a year ago so I should have been a by pass but oh well. My first day of work is Monday! I'm excited to meet the rest of my leadership team and get started.
My room in my apartment is a mess, I have no furniture, the only thing in my kitchen is a Keurig, and I'm sleeping on an air mattress, but I'm here!! Casting on Wednesday, (maybe) Traditions on Saturday, first day of work on Monday!
Happy Holidays. 🎄✨
This is it. 🎓✨
It's warm & real & bright...
20 days until.... graduation. 21 days until... Disney World. 34 days until... I leave Ohio. 38 days until... I check into my PI. Everything is so close, yet so far away! I'm so excited for the next step in my Disney journey and I can't wait to see where this role takes me. Until then, I'm counting down the days from cold, snowy Ohio.
"Every story has a beginning..." I am thrilled to be joining the Global HR Operations team in January! I never thought I would be able to say that I received an offer for my dream job, with my dream company. I am humbled and excited to start my post-college career with The Walt Disney Company. January 6 starts this new adventure! ✨
Interview Stage
I finally got some positive movement on one of my applications! I received a call on Thursday from Renee to set up an interview for the Global HR Operations Internship!
I had the interview yesterday and it was 36 minutes long. I honestly feel so good about it. I was their first interview for the position, too! They said they hope to wrap up interviewing by next Friday and then make decisions after that. Just a couple more weeks of waiting!
I think it’s odd that other people are getting emails to set up an interview for this same internship, but I got a phone call. I’m hoping that’s a good sign, but don’t want to get my hopes up. They’re only taking 2 interns, and I have no idea how many they're interviewing.
The way they described the internship made it sound perfect for me. I know the Disney gods have something amazing lined up for me no matter where I end up, and I’m really just thankful to have made it this far in the process. Here’s to another couple magical weeks of waiting. ✨
12 more days!
I've been to Disney countless times (kinda happens when you work for the company), but I don't know that I've ever been this excited for a Disney trip. We're only going for 3 days (flying in on the 10th, leaving the 12th), but it's going to be so magical. My sister gets to come with us this time, and she's been talking about how excited she is to go. We're staying at my home, Disney's Art of Animation in a Finding Nemo suite, which I'm SO excited about! I absolutely love our suites. We have reservations for the Osborne Lights Dessert Party, and it's the first time I'm seeing the lights! On top of that, we scored breakfast reservations at Ohana, where my sister will get to meet her favorite Disney character. It will be all of our first Very Merry Christmas Party and I honestly just can't wait. PLUS my mom decided we needed to celebrate my graduation in Disney World, so the day after I graduate, we're flying down again! Nevermind the fact that I'm moving to Florida in January! Good things are coming in November and I can't wait. ❤️❤️
2 years ago today, I accepted my offer for my first Disney College Program. I was a sophomore in college and had just transferred to the College of Business from the College of Arts. I had no idea what I wanted to be or where I wanted to go in life. I had just given up my dream of being a music teacher, something I had planned for all of middle school and high school. Music was my passion, but college showed me that it wasn't where my career was. Little sophomore me made the big decision to switch to business and I declared Finance as my major. Then this offer came. I accepted, of course. I had no idea how it was going to change me. I moved to Florida, by myself. It was the first time I had flown by myself and it was the first time I was really, truly independent. It was a big change. It was also the best thing that ever happened to me. I spent 8 months in Florida that first time (2 programs). During that time, I found a new passion: people. Now, that sounds odd. But working for TWDC showed me the magic of human interaction and made me realize that I wanted to work in a field that would give me that every day. I wanted to work in a field where I was helping others. That led me to Human Resource Management. Since then, I have fallen completely in love with my field and with working for TWDC. How many people get to say that they create happiness for a living? How many people can say they've seen the look of joy in a child's eye when they meet their favorite character for the first time? How many people can say that they truly love their job and what they do every day? In 81 days, this will be me again. In 81 days, I will check into my 4th Disney College Program to start another magical journey. I cannot stress enough how much this program changed my life. Was it hard work? Yes. Are the hours long? Yes. But is it worth it? A million times yes. This program took little baby timid sophomore me and turned her into what I am today: a strong, independent businesswoman who knows exactly where she wants to go and what she wants to do. I like to say that before my first program, I was like Rapunzel, wondering "when will my life begin". 3 programs later, I am like Hercules: I've found right where I belong, and there's a great warm welcome waiting for me. Disney, I cannot wait to call you home again.
do CEP people get discounts on disney cruises during their cep? also have you ever known anyone that did a disney cruise during their cep? is it possible to get that much time?
i had never heard of anyone going on a cruise during their CP, but i’m sure it could be possible. You would just have to pay your rent up front. basically you just have to work enough hours in a week to cover your rent, so you can take a week off and go on vacation. that obviously depends on getting approved days off, switching shifts, etc. All depends on how much you want to work for it. as for the discount, I’m pretty sure CPs get it, but i’m not 100% sure as I had never dealt with it personally! Any current/past CPs have any answers???
You have to be a Cast Member for 90 days before you're eligible for cruise discounts. So during your CP, yes, you will be eligible, but not right away.
It's a space available discount - for when they're trying to fill all the cabins. The prices and discounts vary by cruise. It is deeply discounted though.
As for going during your CP, most cruises are last minute with the discount. So there's not usually time to request off for the cruise dates. You can always give away shifts though if a cruise comes up that you want to book.
All of this information can be found on the Hub once you have access.
Drop downs
Seriously hoping that drop downs haven't ended... I know most positions haven't gone out, but I'm hoping the ones that have will send out more. Someone got a drop down for my dream position, and I'm still just "in progress" for Alumni Only. If this means I'm really not being considered for this specific internship, I'm heartbroken. I know it's way too early to say I'm out of the running and this post may seem silly later on in this process, but I needed to vent about it a little bit. I need some serious pixie dust, because I'm losing the confidence I had for alumni only. Here's to more (hopefully positive) movement on Monday.
89 days until I'm jumping on Main Street as a Cast Member again. 27 days until my next trip to the World. C'mon, time, move a little faster! 😭✨
