"can I touch your hair????" No "whyyyyy????" every time like why is it surprising that I don't want to be TOUCHED
My girlfriend is autistic and in high school, she told people she didn’t like being touched. Of course, this led to everyone trying to give her a big group hug, which then caused her to scream and start crying… then they looked at her like SHE was the crazy one! She fucking told you she didn’t want to be touched!
Why are people like this? Personal space people… not a hard concept. Heck, even if you don’t understand personal space, no one should have to justify “don’t touch me.” If someone asks you not to touch them… just don’t. I don’t see why it’s difficult to understand either.
so my mom is a dispatcher for our town’s police and one time a man called 911 saying that he was with his kid and he didn’t think he was breathing and so my mom rushed a few ambulances out and directed him on how to give cpr over the phone and the man told my mom that his son was breathing again and my mom was so pleased but then once the ambulances got there they radioed in asking for a psych eval because apparently the man had been giving cpr to a cantelope
Me for any underaged ships: “I Disney-Ship this.“
Disney shipping: I love these characters together they are cute but if what they’re doing can’t be shown in a Disney movie I ain’t interested.
This is perfect. This is absolutely perfect
All my su ships are disney ships
When I die, things that only I remember will disappear completely
when white actors play PoC suddenly it’s “oh they just wanted the best actor” and “race doesn’t matter to the character” or “they need the star power” no matter how much proof you show about how Race is important to the character or hell the entire story
But when it’s the other way around White people will become ancient anthropologists, have a degree in geothermal studies and astrophysics and pull out ancient real world documentation to tell you why this fictional story set in a world with time travel magic and demons needs to be all white cast because it’s based off of a old 14th century time that has a fairy tale about a goat monster in Ancient Rome during the summer of 1348 and how they were white because the Teutonic plates had shift 2 degrees north.
When a white person is cast in a POC role, almost every poc person collectively loses their shit and attack the actor/actress in the role to the point that everyone, even Buzzfeed and Facebook, are talking about how horrible they are.
When a black person is cast in a white role, no matter the circumstances, the POC community rejoices about a POC actor/actress “stealing the role away from that (insert insult based on white skin here)”
That’s because white people are constantly stealing roles and this whole they wanted the best thing is bullshit. They put out calls for white people and exclude slews of PoC who could be much better but you will never know.
Also white washing does harm. Racebending characters from white to PoC does not.

Alright, I can buy the whitewashing does harm thing, as I know for a fact that it does, but attacking an actor/actress for going after a role does a lot of harm, too. On top of that, celebrating an actor/actress of color being cast in a role should not have to include a phrase about a person “stealing a role from a person of (X Race).”
What are we calling attacking? Slews of people calling the actor/actress on their participation in this racist practice? That’s not attacking someone. What harm does it do? Like I’m pretty sure people called Tilda out on this Doctor Strange bullshit. Has she lost her job? Like what harm? Is it making them feel bad as a person? Good. They should feel bad for doing this.
Also maybe not tone police people who constantly have to deal with white people stealing from us. Saying “yaay we stole a role from the whites uwu” doesn’t hurt anyone.
However if a PoC is saying that about another PoC of a different race then that is a problem because we cannot and should not be stealing representation from each other.
mod v
What Are we considering ‘white’ here? Because I’ve seen people behave in the way I described (“hate we stole roles from other races”) about Japanese/Chinese/basically pale Asian people, but almost nobody called them out about that.
And can we please discuss the fact that I agree, the whitewashing in large films such as Doctor Strange /Is/ an issue that needs to be discussed, but if X small actor turns down a role, their name will most likely not get out, and they may not be offered a role for a long while after? If X actor is struggling, and they have a chance to not be struggling, they should take it, and maybe people shouldn’t attack them for it! On top of that, maybe X actor who did take the role is struggling with a mental disorder, but people will ignore that to attack X.
1. Those people are wrong and the people who don’t call them out are wrong. This blog calls out those people all the time.
2. Have you been missing whitewashing’s greatest hits the past few years? It hasn’t been small white actors it’s been big name people that don’t have to worry about that taking these roles.
And it’s complete nonsense thinking that a small time white actor won’t get another chance since the entertainment industry is skewed in favor of white people. Now I get when it’s PoC and even then I still hold them accountable in ways.
No hell no. Struggling with a mental disorder doesn’t give you a pass for people calling you out. I suffer from depression, anxiety and drug addiction. That doesn’t mean I get to do whatever the hell I want and nobody can say shit to me especially if I am contributing to racism and white supremacy - which white washing does.
Calling people out is not attacking them. Telling people they are racist for participating is whitewashing is not attacking them. Going on on their mental illness if it’s known is another story but having people tell them they did something wrong and racist isn’t them being attacked. It’s them dealing with the consequences of their harmful and oppressive actions. I say oppressive because whitewashing contributes to racism which contributes to white supremacy which contributes to oppressive systems.
mod v
As far as I know, the actor/actress BEST FIT FOR X ROLE IS CAST, REGARDLESS OF RACE (of course, they should at least fucking try to cast a person of X race in x role if said role calls for said race)
And there is a fine line between Calling someone out and attacking them.
Calling someone out: "This person is acting in this role that was meant for someone outside of that race, which is bad because it takes roles away from people of that race. We should try to tell them that."
Attacking: "OMFG YOU FUCKING RACIST ASSHOLE! STEALING ROLES!? FUCKING KICK HIM OUT OF THE MOVIE! YOU'RE FUCKING RACIST! STOP OPPRESSING US!"
If the person acknowledges their actions (taking a role made for another race), and they blatantly state that they don't give a fucking shit, screenshot it! Post it! Show that they're wrong! Show that they're mean and gross, but don't just scream about them being racist right off the bat!
i hope 2017 is soft and forgiving
It’s SO funny seeing posts like these. Remember when we all said 2015 was the year from hell and 2016 WILL be better? Remember how that was a literal complete lie. Now look at us….grasping onto our last hope

That’s a great costume, Stevonnie.
The glorification of mental illness/disabilities, especially autism, that I see on here is horrible. I work with children who have autism, and it isn’t an “aesthetic” for Christ sake. These children are most likely going to have to live in an adult home when they are older, and I see people self diagnosing with autism to try and be “trendy” and “quirky.” Autism isn’t a trend. Autism isn’t a quirk. I can’t believe I even have to say that.
I work with kids who have autism (all across the spectrum) and it’s just really aggravating when you do see people who use it to make themselves seem “cool”. One of the kids I work with has cried before because he is so embarrassed by his ticks (side note: with him we call them quirks because of the negative connotation of it word ticks) . Nothing is “cool” about a kid wanting a hug from their mom, but can’t have one because they have sensory issues at random moment. I may not have much authority to speak on this since I do not autism, but it’s hard to work with these kids and have people just say that they are badly behaved and then have these self-dx'ers go right ahead and make this their excuse for their own shitty behavior that was caused by their need to be given attention.
The kids I work with are ages 3-5 and are on the severe end of the autism spectrum. Most of them are nonverbal and struggle to express themselves. I have one 5 year old girl who hits her head when she can’t be understood, and has to wear a helmet because she knocked herself out once. The kids I work with are the sweetest kids on earth, but they are very obviously struggling. I find it ironic how self dxers call everyone who opposes them “ableist”, when they themselves are the ones trivializing autism and mental illness.

Super fricken cool!! Thank you so much :D
I’m gonna write a book series like Harry Potter where it starts pre-romantic interests age and I’m gonna make sure it gets super popular within its first two or three books and then I’m gonna drOP THE GAY BEAT and my publishers will be like “wait she can’t have a same sex love interest” and I’ll be like “if you want the next book, she sure as hell can” and that’s my gay agenda in a nutshell
Has this been done before.
