The boys stub their toes
how to care for your little mandalorian sister
i spend a lot of time thinking about the potential angst of post-peridea ezra bridger.
he mentions alderaan at his return party and doesn’t understand why the room went quiet. he spent nearly a decade sleeping on solid ground and now can’t sleep in space, even in his old bunk on the ghost. he meets jacen and feels a force signature so similar to kanan’s that he excuses himself to the bathroom and cries until he throws up. everyone keeps mentioning this skywalker guy he doesn’t know and he hates having to ask who another person is. he goes back to lothal and sees its been rebuilt after the bombardment and that’s a good thing, he knows that’s a good thing, but now he doesn’t recognize buildings and streets and can’t help but feel a little sad. And he shouldn’t, because its fixed now, its free.
ezra sitting in the gunner’s chair of the ghost, unable to sleep, looking out at the galaxy and thinking: you’ve changed for the better, just like i wanted, but now i don’t recognize you anymore.
i do think there’s a world where ilya tells cliff marleau about the friendship plan and cliff is like “well if ur cover story is friendship than we need to make ur reputation with friends super gay king” and ilya is like “bro … you would do that … for us …” and cliff is like “no worries big dawg”. because like, hollander doesn’t do the gay for the homies thing naturally, but if roz has a reputation, it won’t be weird if he does it in public even if hollsy doesn’t reciprocate. cliff is a genius.
anyway, that’s how the internet spends a year speculating that ilya rozanov and cliff marleau have explored each others bodies. they are so all over each other and constantly tweeting gay shit about each other that ilya’s time with shane barely even gets a second glance. the first time ilya drags shane out to meet cliff, a photo gets posted on twitter and everyone is like “poor shane having to third wheel these two #ally”.
obviously shane is gnawing on furniture because he’s so jealous, but the plan does work. and when they get outed, cliff works it into his best man speech.
My mom care's a little too much about hockey. Yeah, I see where you get it from.
Hello can we get to know each other,if you wouldn't mind,I mean no harm?
Uhhhh sure?
and they were teammates<3
Ilya has surgery on his shoulder in the off season. The surgery is considered a minor one and everything goes well. He walks up from surgery high as a kite but otherwise fine. Yuna, David, and Shane are talking to Ilya when a nurse walks in. The nurse explains he’s here to examine the small incision and check the stitches but when he tries to pull down the hospital gown, Ilya freaks out and tells him no. “I’m married!” He slurs out. “Happily married!” They try to explain that the nurse is just doing his job but Ilya isn’t having it. Only Shane can undress him so Shane peels back the gown enough for the nurse to look at the stitches. Shane apologizes for Ilya’s outburst but the nurse shrugs them off and says it was actually kind of cute.
i knowwwwww in my heart ilya would love taking shanes last name and after they have kids referring to their family unit as hollanders. ilya turning around to the backseat like okey hollanders here is plan. we are going to be in and out of costco in thirty minutes. you may choose ONE item each. if we get separated we meet at optometrist. we will get ice creams on way out as long as everyone is cool and nobody tells dad. hollanders on three.
Shane and Ilya will often ask each other to explain little cultural things. For Ilya, it’s the odd English word or Canadian phrase. For Shane, it’s translation of Russian media or a pop culture reference.
So when they’re lying in bed one day after a long evening practice, scrolling on their phones, Shane turns towards Ilya and asks, “what’s a ‘slavic stare’?”
“What?”
Shane turned his phone screen towards his husband. It’s a list of ‘Top 10 Athletes with Best Slavic Stare’.
“I am only number four?” Ilya frowned.
“What is it?” Shane pressed.
“Is this,” Ilya tossed his phone aside and rolled over on top of his husband. He had himself propped up on his hands, strong arms bracketing Shane’s head.
Shane looked confused at first. Ilya closed his eyes and set his features. When he opened his eyes, they were gazing up at Shane, chin tilted down. His jaw was set tight with a hard line at his brow. All playfulness had fled his features.
It was the same expression Shane had seen during important games. Games where Ilya wasn’t just trying to win, he was trying to destroy the other team.
“Ilya?” Shane breathed.
But Ilya just stared. It was intense, focused, like his world narrowed down to a single task.
It felt like… how Shane imagined a rabbit would feel caught in the eyes of a wolf.
“Ilya, stop it,” Shane wiggled, hands on Ilya’s chest to push him off. The fact he used about 10% of his strength to do this meant nothing.
Ilya grabbed both of his hands in one of his and pinned them above his head.
He said something in Russian that Shane only caught fragments of. His voice was deeper like it got when he spoke his native language. Shane got “you” “wanted” “good boy” and “me” but it was enough for him to vaguely catch onto the meaning.
“Ilya, I’m…,” Shane whined and unsuccessfully tried to yank his hands back. “I’m tired. I just wanted an…explanation.”
“But you are hands-on learner,” Ilya said in English but with a thick accent, not dropping the stare.
Shane squeezed his eyes close as Ilya dipped to capture his prey.
Fuck.
Ilya never gets dementia. He worries about it, with his genetic predisposition and his frequent head injuries. But he never gets it.
His brother does.
His brother calls him, forgetting that Ilya went no-contact with him. Ilya's silent on the phone, listening to Alexei's wife softly explain it to him and take the phone.
He texts Ilya, asking when where he is. Asking who he's playing next game.
Ilya's been retired for over 20 years.
He knows Shane wants to say something, but he never does. He's just quietly supportive.
One day, it's Alexei's wife that calls him. She apologizes for calling. She tells him Alexei doesn't remember her anymore. Or their daughter. He only asks about Ilya and their parents. She offers to delete Ilya's number from his phone.
Ilya declines.
After that, he starts answering the phone. And talking.
Alexei asks where he is. Ilya tells him he's coming home soon. That seems to make Alexei happy.
Alexei asks who Ilya is playing. Ilya says Montreal. Alexei tells him to win or papa will be angry.
Alexei tells him mama made him soup. Ilya tells him that was his daughter. Alexei laughs, he doesn't have a daughter.
He doesn't remember how cruel he was to Ilya. He doesn't remember how much he loved drugs and drinking.
He was so much like Ilya's Alexei, before he started taking after their father. Before he let his anger at their mother consume him. Before he caught Ilya and Sasha and allowed his fear for his little brother to turn into anger and disgust.
One day Ilya offers his wife, Natalia, to have them visit. Their daughter has visited more than once, even stayed with them for a summer after high school. His and Shane's kids tried to teach her hockey.
Natalia regretfully tells him Alexei is not well enough to travel.
Ilya can't travel to them, not while he's married to Shane.
But their phone calls are enough.
About once a week, he gets to speak to a version of his brother than he had dearly missed. He gets to talk about his mama like she's still live, not dead for over 50 years. He gets to talk about the rink he and Alexei used to play hockey at. To talk about the stray cat he and Alexei once hid in their bedroom for a week.
He finds himself looking forward to the phone calls.
And dearly missing when they end.
By the same reasoning Anon, you shouldn't judge K for a situation you know nothing about. I think she's in a legit relationship that's under huge strain because of his new found stardom. She is not media trained and likely overwhelmed by the sheer volume of interest and cameras recording his every move, fans outside hotels etc. I am completely unsurprised by how pissed off she looks, I would look exactly the same in her situation. And if this is how he treats someone he supposedly loves, then why would any of us want him to be with C instead
While I agree we need to extend empathy towards K until it’s proven shes actually done something, Hudson is not the villain here either. However, I don’t think he loves K like that, and it’s been demonstrated that he does treat someone he loves with great affection and protectiveness.
We don’t want Hudson to be with Connor instead, we think he already is and thus everything else is downstream effects of their choice to hide it for now.
Insane. Yall are fucking insane
Regarding bracelet-gate (lol) thank you for being a reasonable. Hudson is out in NYC with friends enjoying Pride weekend, and K (this fandom's favorite boogeyman) is nowhere in sight. So why are we dragging her into this?
Enjoy the fact that the man is booked and busy. For weeks people complained that there were no Tyrant crumbs, and now that we have some, everyone's back to analyzing a bracelet.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: stop assigning so much meaning to symbols. A bracelet, a tattoo, a ring, or a social media like is not a crystal ball. People read way too much into things they want to be significant. Married people cheat while wearing wedding rings; a piece of jewelry is not proof of anything.
Take the update for what it is: Hudson looks happy, he's working, he's with friends, and life is moving forward.
Hiii
😬
Good Lord, I have got to get on top of answering asks on time 😭
NYC was like 2/3 weeks ago, babes I’m so sorry!
So on one hand we can’t say that the bracelet means nothing to him. It clearly does.
On the other hand… k’s bracelet seems to be missing…
….,..sooooooooo 🤣🤣🤣
My guy…this is so gross. You’re being gross towards a real actual relationship that someone you allegedly care about is a part of. Get a grip please
If I had a credit for every time a psychometric jedi fell in love with a nightsister, I would have two credits, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

Leave it to Din to try and be the savior.
He's so beautiful I'm sick.
