The Random Musings of A Random Man

This blog is little more than a place where I can share my thoughts, feelings and memories from my life as a transgender man. My whole life has been a struggled, continuing to be so to this day, and I cannot deny that it's all overwhelming. My need to be stealth has stolen any confidence I have to discuss these issues in the real world, even to a therapist, so these posts are a way of getting things off my chest, but also a way for me to share my story and help others. I hope to show that no-one is alone out there and that this life isn't easy for anyone. Please enjoy.

I’m finally scheduled to have my top surgery later this month. I’ve waited for this for ten years, but all I can think about is how it is going to go wrong. They’re going to find some health reason why I can’t do it. The surgeon is going to call in sick on the day of my surgery. 

Throughout my life something has happened to delay my surgery. It’s hard to have faith that it won’t happen again.

When I got my first period, my mother didn’t believe me and told me I was “too young.” When we went bra shopping she bought me bras that were far too small, telling me I was being silly when I asked for bigger ones. The only bras I had that fit were my sister’s old ones that I took out of the rubbish bin.

But sure, when I came out as trans, I completely ruined her “little girl.” ><

Really? Because my passport says I’m male, my ID says I’m male, my bank details say I’m male, my credit card details say I’m male, my medical records say I’m male and most importantly me, myself the person who is me says I’m male. Frankly I don’t see how a bored, random person who doesn’t know me would disagree.
