Oh hey girl š¬
my Alexander design as a teen, around the time he first took over as regent (around 16 years old).
as usual, design notes and alternate version under cut (˵ ā¢Ģ į“ - ˵ ) ā§
olympias and alexander
I missed drawing Socrates and Alcibiades.
(Alcibiades needs a more glamorous look)
My copy of The Charioteer is the one with the boy staring sort of creepily from the cover, so I played around and made a new one inspired by pulp fiction-y books from the 1940s-1950s š
Lmao, though, I love the disclaimer on that one vintage cover āThree men plunged into struggle with their unnatural loveā and like⦠hm.
Started re-reading The Golden Mean recently since I heard itās getting a Netflix adaption (huuuhhh?!) some sketches along the way
Itās been 10+ years but... I did always remember enjoying this portrayal of kid Alexander as someone quite off-putting compared to most of his literary counterparts
I just realized that the only time Achilles looks like a ānormalā father to Neo is when he is about to off his ass to war
oh Iām sureā¦.

I like to think Alexander and his full sister, Cleopatra, were close
Alexander the Great, based off the ābattle of issusā mosaic from pompeii
Statue of a saint damaged by the sea air, Parish of St. Hilda, Hartlepool England
Hephaestion died and Alexander's heart died too.
A poster design inspired by the movie "The Lobster"
The horns on the king's head are those of the Egyptian god Amun.
Hector -> Andromache -> Astyanax
