this makes me so sad, but it’s exactly how racism works, even in ways that might not be blatantly obvious to those who don’t regularly experience it.
jessica stuck up for meghan a few months ago, and she received massive backlash for doing so. in the months that followed, she was harassed and trolled mercilessly, and told that she excused antisemitism (???), her jewish relatives would be ashamed of her, and that she was a stain on her family, etc. people attacked her businesses and lied about her. and it almost succeeded in its goal: silencing her.
she had to be called in, in order to speak out it again. and i’m glad that she did. i know that she supports my community, but her being vocal still matters, because it makes those who might stick around if you’re silent, think twice. it lets them know that you are not accepting of this kind of treatment. it lets *us* know that we can trust you and count on you.
i know that people have mixed feelings about jessica generally. those feelings are not important and i’m not interested in them. her support here is, and i’m glad she is a good enough person that she was already surrounded by black people who felt comfortable going to her and expressing themselves.
if you don’t have anyone like that in your life, think about why that might be. if you’ve attacked her, think about what led you to do so and work on yourself.

After hearing the news of George Floyd’s murder, members of the royal fandom sensibly went to the royal confessions page to complain about Meghan Markle not protesting with BLM and moan about how she is a performative activist.
Imagine that. Their first response to a Black man getting lynched in broad daylight is to attack a BLACK WOMAN who has been one of the most high profile victims of racism in Britain for over two years. A black woman, who has been threatened with violence over the colour of her skin countless times. A woman who grew up during the LA Riots and has dedicated her life to fighting injustice.
You do not get to police how we react to, mourn, or protest our own oppression. Black people do not owe you shit. And IDGAF if you’re also a Black person saying these things, get that coon shit out of my face.
This is the same garbage-ass fandom that actively contributed to, encouraged, and justified the racist harassment of a black woman for years. To the point that her friends and family feared for her life. So, kindly take your half-hearted BLM posts and go fuck yourselves.

With Trump’s decision today to enforce the mobilization of armed forces on our own citizens, this has escalated beyond your privilege and comfort to not care. Please care. We are begging you to care. I am not a lawyer but I am pretty sure that Karen Middleton doesn’t have a case. There was nothing in the Tatler article that defamed her character and all Tatler’s lawyers have to do bring up all the other “sexist and snobbish” articles written about Kate through the years and question why she never sued those publications.
Also what was so different about this this Tatler article that warranted this reaction because this isn’t the first time someone has questioned her work ethic or socio economic background?
So I need Karen Middleton to sit down and practice the “never complain and never explain” mantra that she has been doing for years.

The Duchess of Sussex has been in regular contact with Mayhew who like everyone it seems are struggling. Uniquely, the charity not only have a shelter but help homeless people look after their pets in the community. These animals are a crucial emotional pillar for many vulnerable people.
The charity gets all its money from donations and relies heavily on public fundraising events which have been cancelled due to social distancing rules. They have launched an urgent appeal for funds.
