What if human astronauts visit Erid one day and are doing diplomatic things and whatnot and they learn Ryland Grace is sstill alive and is in a terrarium. They’re experimenting on him right now in fact. They read about deep sea diving and are now testing the effects of replacing certain gases in Graces atmosphere. Right now they’re testing helium.

They send someone to stop the experiment but Grace refuses cause they’re so far in already and well that would just ruin the data.

The new humans think this is hilarious and insist on joining the experiment as Grace excitedly yaps about all the cool stuff he’s learned about aliens but he’s still got that high pitched helium voice.

celestia is such a funny character like she's constantly manipulating twilight and friends to do shit instead of just asking and you could arguably frame that as being bc she's a "god" and pushing fate to her design or whatever, except that she engages with the group like a normal and relatable person, which makes it more like villainous machinations, except 90% of this manipulation goes towards things like "I don't want my party to be boring shit again. put my little country girl blorbos in there with zero prep so they fuck it up bad"

Celestia instantly makes more sense as a character when you ignore the princess stuff and remember that she's a 1000+ years old wizard. Of course she does manipulative trickster stuff to teach moral lessons and/or cause chaos to amuse herself, that's classic wizard behavior. Of course sometimes she's actually socially awkward and bad at personal relationships and has bad ideas that she thought were good that result in her eating shit embarrassing style, that's classic wizard behavior. Of course she lets the aristocrats and nobles run around being assholes she's still running on wizard advisor programming, she's basically trying to merlin the entire upper class of equestria instead of just a king and some knights. "Yeah uuhhh we'll release the incarnation of chaos himself from his ancient prison because we think this shy girl can be friends with him", terrible plan if you're thinking like a ruler, amazing plan if you're thinking like a wizard. Just look at Canterlot 'Castle' for five seconds and ask yourself if that's in any way a castle. No. Wizard tower, yes. Wizard.

there's also the fact that people take her waaay too seriously and would look into what she says way too deep (ex. the whole Phoenix kidnapping incident)

so she's gotta like, misdirect ponies into doing what she actually wants, if she had actually asked the mane six to come be theyre chaotic selves to the gala to liven it up, none of them would actually be wild selves, so she just chucks them in with no prep knowing theyre not gonna be able to keep up the mask for long

This manipulation I imagine also how she handles her staff so she doesnt have to wait through the cooks several breakdowns in order to get.. Idk a sandwich because its not "perfect enough"

Hello! Do you think you could explain your inspiration/the meaning on your "can you let me grow with them?" Twilight art? Is it about her wings? Her friends? I'm so curious...though no pressure of course

Hiii, thank you for asking! So I really wanted to show how desperate the Twilight is when she sees the transformation from being just a pony to princess form (longer body, wavy hair, being immortal) And it’s obviously sad that she will outlive her friends ,so asking a giant Celestia to stop the process is like praying to god to make life better. Also i drew her hair being wavy at the end only because the process is unnatural, logically it will become this way from the roots :) Oh and the Celestial hand on Twilights crown is her taking a control in situation. So nice ppl interested in this !!!
