Good evening everyone! As we’ve just released our final teaser, that marks the end of our current contest! We’re so excited to announce the winners who will get a sneak peak of the main before everyone else. Due to the large amount of participation, there will actually be six winners - @hailthequeens, @jonstarkgaryen, @perseuswrites, @reyswritings, @tabiwrites, and @rycndunn - congratulations and thank you so much for participating! ORION MASSETTI is ORSINO
There’s only one difference between a man with his own interests in mind and a man who claims to serve the mob first: the latter is a liar. As for Orion, he’s always prided himself on being brutally honest and sinfully indulgent. Sworn to one side but pledging undying loyalty to none, he lounges with one foot over the line of betrayal and the other atop his knee—shameless. A wise man like him knows better than to put both feet on the ground without first confirming that it will hold his weight, but the option, he knows, is there; it’s no secret that the best soldiers can be bought, and he’s nothing if not an opportunist. Good at what he does and far better at what he shouldn’t, he’d kiss a man for a good time and slit his throat in the same breath, and that’s exactly why Cosimo Capulet wanted him. His wine-stained lips color him a glutton, but the blood on the bottom of his shoes draws a different picture. It’s all the same though; a masterpiece warrants admiration because it is a masterpiece, not because its components are pure. Dangerously passionate and luxuriously lethal, he is the vision of Verona in all its glory, and God, what a vision it is.

i'm super interested in apping for Viola, but was curious as to how her story arc is played out here?
I am so glad that you are interested in the Queen of My Heart (Bree is the pauper of my heart and Embelina is the duchess of it). Right now, I don’t really want to give too much away because I kinda want everyone to be like “WHAT” and “GIRL, NO” when her biography is released. But for now I will leave you with this -- essentially, I have taken the idea of her story arc and applied it to the mob genre.

Thanks for being so kind. I'm the anon from before. My worry is the fact that I heard someone who has harassed me in the past is probably going to be in the RP and I don't know what to do. I guess my question is if we are both accepted would we have to interact necessarily or would it be okay if we talked to you and figured something out. I don't want this to hurt my chances of getting in :(
This is completely understandable, and I’m really sorry to hear that you’ve been harassed. I definitely wouldn’t let it stop you from applying, as acceptance isn’t a guarantee for anyone, but if both of you do get accepted, we could definitely talk about it and figure something out. Without knowing the details, that’s probably all I can really tell you, but I wouldn’t worry about it much until you know for sure that it’ll be a problem! And no worries, this certainly won’t hurt your chances of getting in. We won’t be tolerating any drama between group members, but if you’re willing to work something out and be civil, there shouldn’t be any issues. Like I said before, we want DiVerona to be a safe space for everyone. We’ll do anything we can to keep it that way!

i love the direction you're going with ophelia from her teaser. could you tell me a bit more about her?
She has been the girl whose fragile shoulders sagged under the weight of her father’s expectations, a pretty little thing who let her brother tell her who to be and how to act. She has been the girl who never spoke out of turn—never raised her voice. She has been a heart laid bare, waiting to be instructed on how to beat. But that heart stopped beating somewhere between a gunshot and a eulogy, and another has taken its place—a bolder heart, unrestrained by the wishes of others. Good girls don’t get their hands dirty, don’t get blood on their dresses—don’t get even, but the girl who kept her painted lips shut and her darling head down is gone. One day, some will dare to say she went mad with the death of her beloved father, and in some ways, they might be right. But revenge isn’t insanity and neither is liking the way a trigger feels under your finger. If that were the case, the whole damn city would be mad.

I really want to join this RP but I'm scared it's not going to be a safe place for some players. Any advice?
We're so glad to hear that you'd like to join us, and we really appreciate you letting us know your concerns, as it was definitely never our intention to make anyone uncomfortable! I can't really give you specific advice without knowing where the problem is stemming from (the content of the teasers, the themes of the plot, etc.), so my best advice is probably to speak to us privately about anything you're worried about. We'll do our best to work things out! If you'd rather not, then my advice would be to do what makes you feel comfortable. We promise we'll do everything in our power to make this a safe place for everyone, and we really do want all of our applicants to see DiVerona as such!

THE PRIMADONNA OF VERONA
RAFAELLA CAPULET is ROSALINE
It gets awfully lonely, standing on a pedestal that others have put you on. But while you’re there, you manage to make the most off the lofty view while looking down upon others. You watch, like an owl on a perch. You learn, like a leopard methodically stalking its prey. You listen, like a hare in a bush, ready to dart away. It is a cold and unforgiving position to be in. The coldness sinks into your bones until crystals form on your skin. The unforgiving conditioning acting as a spell that casts a heart of stone. Perhaps that is why the gods often toyed with the humans, ruining one mortal life after the other -- with a view from the heavens it is so easy to detach yourself from those beneath you, and bring justice and ruin at the same moment. It is from the lofty and thankless gods that Rafaella has learned her lessons and it is with this in mind that she watches the people of Verona below her. Although she may have been placed on a pedestal, she still yearns to reach down and grasp their hands -- she wishes that for one moment they would allow her some respite and remember that she is merely a girl. Don’t they realize how keenly their stares pierce her skin? Don’t they know how the loneliness of her position suffocates her? The primadonna of Verona, they call her -- a role she had not wanted, yet it is one that she was cast for all the same.

Can you possibly see Sophie Turner as Cordelia?
I hadn’t considered her before because I’ve always pictured her as a blonde, but yes, I could see Sophie working! Another non-blonde alternative I’d love for her is Sarah Bolger.

SANTINO GALLO is SEBASTIAN
To believe in the inherent good of people might be a fool’s errand -- and if that is so, then Santino would gladly consider himself a fool. Despite the fact that God seems to be punishing him for a terrible sin he doesn’t remember committing, tearing off the wings of His beloved angel and placing him among the revelers of the Devil. He walks among his friends and family as a strange paradox, both a sinner and a saint. Santino is constantly thrown in with the worst of them, those who enjoy burying themselves up to the elbow of their victim’s blood, and yet he manages to leave dens of depravity with his hands as pure as driven snow. Some whisper that it is because he has made a deal with the Devil that he manages to keep himself so good, that the Devil is saving him for a later date so that his ruin will be that much sweeter. Others believe that it is the hand of God -- because only God would have the power to keep an innocent soul like him so pure and pious in a world that is full of torture and pain. But Santino knows the truth. There is so much evil in the world, so much blood that paints the streets -- it is the duty of people like him to provide the light and hope of a peaceful day. Until that day comes, he will do what angels do best: carry out the will of God.
