Something that I get chills about is the fact that the oldest story told made by the oldest civilization opens with "In those days, in those distant days, in those ancient nights."

This confirms that there is a civilization older than the Sumerians that we have yet to find

@makaeru peer review cos this made me check when the Sumerians happened and I forget how recent history is for every other continent. 7000 - 8000 years ago just isn't that long when you're in Australia, and the amount of detailed history we have access to here is wonderful and should be recognised more internationally

My favorite fact about Aboriginal oral history is the fact that we pretty recently discovered that the Aboriginal myth of the 7 Sisters, an origin story for the Pleiades star cluster, accurately reflects a point TEN THOUSAND YEARS AGO when two stars in the constellation got close enough together to no longer be distinguishable by the naked eye.

The story? 6 sisters running from something that took their 7th sister.

It’s become pretty fanon-typical to have Qi Qingqi openly dislike Shen Jiu for his alleged perversion, but have we considered Qi Qingqi Being Scared Of Shen Jiu? After all, he is the second highest authority in the sect, could get away with anything with how the sect leader favors him. He never denies the accusations hurled at him like any reasonable, innocent person would. Qi Qingqi is reasonably sure she could over power Shen Jiu in a physical fight if it came down to it, but what about her peak? Her disciples? The other women and girls within the sect she feels obligated to? How would he retaliate if denied? Maybe Qi Qingqi avoids Shen Jiu as much as she can. She tries to never be in the same room alone with him. She sticks to the arms of her other martial siblings just in case. Her peak is the only place that feels safe from that man’s influence, but she can’t help but recall the 14 year old girl merely a footpath away from him, far away from any safe haven.

Umpf I finished a great game only to find out it has a single (1) fanart in all of the web. I need to do something about it, prob some art, after I'm done with exams.

It saddens me that all the effort put into that game, with such gorgeous artwork, receives such little appreciation. The few comments and engagement could throw this work into obscurity, which I've noticed is a recurring pattern for vn or if titles. Itch.io doesn't really give much for interaction between the devs and the players, besides the comment section, and successfull game promotion for a Steam launch has to go beyond the dev logs- its in the fanart (asides from cgs), asks, giveaways, cannon construction, community building, participating in contests. All of which demands time and energy, on top of the game creation itself.

Really, indie creators deserve so much more for their passion.
