Long Fucking Rant about GO3 series: Reincarnation HCs

I'm not anyone famous, nor am I anyone who belongs in the creative department when GO was created. However, I believe I am entitled to my opinion regarding with whatkind of shitshow GO3.

I do no like it. It's been two months, last I've seen, people were claiming I would grow to love it over time. Over time I just hated it more.

I also vehemently REFUSE to accept the reincarnation possibilities. God forbid, imagine if they were actually reincarnated over and over across all times in this universe. Do you understand how fucking terrifying that is? Our universe is full of bigoted, racist, homophobic, transphobic, all the types of people you don't want to associate it. Imagine them living these lives and suffering if they were reincarnated the same genders, opposite genders but they live in a different class system, different religions, sickly children, sickly adults, political people, apolotical people, effiminate presenting people, women in earlier centuries with no rights, born poor, born out of wedlock, born out of someone's affair, plus all of the things that people had been crucified or suffered for in all the lives they've lived for no fucking reason.

Earth is 13 Billion years, with human evolution and let's say reincarnation started there or somewhere there

They've suffered for THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of years in most of those lives. Either from hatred, sickness, identifying as something or someone else other than they were, from their fate as they were born, and obviously

Sure, they might've been happy at some point, but in all lives? No. And what of the times they never met each other then? Are you to tell me they either married other people or just felt empty and hollow until they died????

Reincarnation across all times sounds all cuteshit until you remember what reality we live in. Remember Alan Turing? Yeah, I'm sure thay person wanted to be treated thatbway for simply loving who they loved after he helped in the war.

And you know what, I think it’s actually so incredibly reasonable and healthy to be angry still.

I think it’s important that folks keep speaking on their feelings regarding the Good Omens finale if they want to and feel safe to, but the sad reality is that so many folks don’t feel safe right now (and for good reason).

I don’t know, y’all. While I can appreciate the sentiment behind “we should all just get along/please stop posting inflammatory takes/we will all feel better soon and reunite/we should be thinking of the fandom at large” posts, they don’t sit right with me. Because why should I or anyone else censor our feelings and opinions? What good is a community if you’re not allowed to express an opinion or emotion that is labeled as negative and undesirable? Why should I force myself to be in community with the people who are showing their true colors right now?

Maybe I’m… not glad, exactly, but sort of grateful to stand corrected on spaces I thought were safe and people I thought were safe, too. Maybe I’m not sure I want to reintegrate with people who think I’m either media illiterate, immature, willfully ignorant or just “stirring things up” on purpose? Maybe I don’t want to be around those saying “if you don’t like the Good Omens finale you should just stop talking about it so those of us who like it aren’t dragged down”?

Maybe the burden of shutting up so as not to offend the more incendiary factions on any side shouldn’t be put on the fandom? Maybe feelings and grief and anger and frustration are messy but that doesn’t make them inherently bad and people have a right to speak on those things without fear?

Maybe all feelings, “good” or “bad”, deserve space?

I also DEEPLY resent this implication that those of us who don’t like the finale are harassing the crew or cast. A very, VERY tiny minority crossed that line while the rest of us would never DREAM of it, so I’m not going to pander to anyone and add on anytning like of course you should never harass the crew or cast because we know that. We all know that. We shouldn’t have to add a disclaimer that we aren’t endorsing aggression and violence just because we hate this piece of public media.

ANYWAY it’s been three weeks and every day I find something else about this 96 minutes of foolery that I cannot stand or that shatters another part of me. I am dedicated to disregarding it as much as I can and I just want everyone to know— everyone who is hurt or decimated or infuriated or depressed or lost or anything of the sort— that it is okay to feel however you feel. I wish none of us had to feel any of this, and god knows we wanted to love this SO badly.

We only feel the way we do because we have such a deep love for Good Omens and its characters and themes.

So don’t let the bastards get you down, I guess is what I’m saying. Your feelings matter JUST AS MUCH as those who loved this finale. Take up space. Don’t let anyone tell you how to feel.

Most of us hate it for several reasons asides from the lack of kiss or confession. The crew literally could've had a happy fandom that would provide art, edits, stories, and more for years had they given out a satisfactory ending for everyone.

Instead, we got multiple people saying they felt erased, out of place, and MOURNING the loss of comfort from what had saved them in times of need. Some reasons are personal and some are objective. You can't tell people to just be grateful because if we'd have known in advance, we rather it stayed cancelled.

Does queer-presenting representation always have to be so fucking tragic? Not a happy one? Nobody says they should fuck or kiss like there's no tomorrow. Most of those are satire, but it would have been nice to actually see them hug or show the love they hid for 6000 years to be visualized.

We are humans. Unless we are of the same species as they are, we cannot understand how other beings would show affection, which is why the show must humanize it for everyone to understand it or explain it so it can be understood. Fanfictions had done this for the sole purpose in case one reader is interested in finding out, but suddenly these professionals can't?

No, I won't shut about it. I'm sharing it in my account wuth people who shares my opinions. Block if it bothers you and have fun calling me an Anti for sharing valid critique on a show that's suddenly decided to throw tomatoes over someone daring to ask questions or make suggestions.

Aziraphale's "I forgive you" meant "I love you".

Forgiveness is one of the biggest acts of love according to the bible. John 3:16 is a testament to that. Jesus was sent to the world to forgive us of our sins.

Crowley thinks he's unforgivable (unlovable), and, everytime, Aziraphale reminds him that he's forgivable (lovable) by him.

"I forgive you" is love unsaid.

Love that could not be risked found out by their respective offices.

So Aziraphale forgives whatever his demon thinks is unforgivable because he wants to remind Crowley that he is loved by him even if God doesn't.

Let's say we take F15 at face value. No deeper meanings, no analysis on every frame of the kiss, no digging deep on how words could have a secret meaning, nothing. Purely just on dialogue.

Face value F15 still makes both Aziraphale and Crowley right AND wrong.

I know there are already metas and theories about this, but please, just my two cents. I need to get it out.

Was Aziraphale wrong for wanting to bring back Crowley to heaven knowing what happened to Crowley? Yes.

Was Aziraphale wrong for making black and white statements between heaven being good and hell being bad? Yes.

Was Aziraphale right on wanting to find a way to be with Crowley in the "best" circumstance they can find just to be with them more freely than what they have now? Yes.

Was Aziraphale right on wanting to make a change in heaven and have Crowley beside him along the process? Yes.

Was Crowley wrong for calling Aziraphale stupid for wanting to go back to heaven? Yes.

Was Crowley wrong for kissing Aziraphale, unconsensually, while both were emotionally charged and are talking at different wavelengths? Yes.

Was Crowley right to express his disappointment that Aziraphale agreed to go back to heaven? Yes.

Was Crowley right in expressing what he wants for the both of them to have, no matter heaven and hell? Yes.

Face value as it is, no one is above the other in terms of right or wrong. Maybe Aziraphale is still hoping for a chance in best circumstance between them and Crowley to be together without hiding and running away. Maybe Crowley just wants to be together with the angel, heaven and hell be damned.

They are right in feeling those, in wanting it, despairing for it. THEY ARE RIGHT.

The part where both of them went wrong is simply because they're not communicating both of their fears and desires, eye-to-eye. Crowley's concerns are focused on their side (love, passion, companionship, them). Aziraphale's was focused on fear (heaven's offer, no more hiding, possibly make changes). The only thing they agreed on was that it was about them, but they never managed to fully talk about where them would be in place. Which caused their argument and heartbreak. They were talking at different wavelengths which is why they never really understood what each of them are trying to convey.

They love each other. It's as simple as that, however, to get there is something both of them have yet to properly put in place with all the obstacles they are facing.

No one needs to grovel or kneel or be useless to prove a point or be vindicated of the hurt. They need each other yes, but praying for Aziraphale's downfall in heaven is like Crowley wanting to ask God questions to better assist the universe only for God to throw Crowley down the pit.

Yes, you are spitting in Crowley's face if you want Aziraphale's downfall. Aziraphale's plans are for all of them, humanity, and the love Crowley and Aziraphale has cultivated throughout the millenia.

If you don't support Aziraphale, you don't support Crowley too.

I'm sure Crowley would be smiting the hell out of all of you who hates and disparages the angel he loves and cares about the most.

Let's support Crowley during the pain, and let's wish Aziraphale the best. They deserve the best outcomes of their immortal love afterall.
