This company is another subsidiary which is entirely owned by Bandai Namco Holdings. BNEI mainly focus on the sales of video games and other related products. Other subsidiaries of Bandai Namco Holdings specialize in making these kinds of products.
BNIE is some kind of a result of the merger that took place back in 2006 between 2 video game operations, Bandai and Namco. At first it was named Namco Bandai Games. However, in January 2014, the company was renamed as Bandai Namco Games. The final change in the name happened in April 2015, when it was officially changed from Bandai Namco Games to Bandai Namco Entertainment.
The Early Days
Back in 2005, Bandai and Namco officially announced that they were intending to combine their operations. The merger officially took place in September 29, 2005. After the merger, both companies for the first six months, stayed under the name Namco Bandai Holdings. One year later, the video game section of Bandai was combined with Namco which resulted into Namco Bandai Games. NBG in 2010 entered the Guinness World Records for being the company that published the most TV commercials for one single product. The product was a Nintendo DS game named Solatorobo: Red the Hunter. As a matter of fact, they managed to produce 100 versions of the ad as the game contains 100 chapters. Few years later, in 2013, they established 2 new game studios.
In December 2014, they officially announced in a press release that the name will be changed to Bandai Namco Entertainment. The official change of the name took place on April 1, 2015. According to a report, as of April 2018, Bandai Namco Entertainment has 710 employees.
