1. @staff made a post pretty much saying “Your stuff isn’t getting deleted, just hidden from everyone but you” and “Yeah we know you hate the term “female presenting nipples” but we ain’t gonna stop saying it” 2. If a blog has a pixelated icon that means they got hit by the ban, you cannot view that blog outside the sidebar. You cannot even view their archive. Allegedly if you follow the advice in this post it’ll be fixed but only if it was an accidental flag (aka a real sfw blog) 3. The post Staff made including examples of what was ok to post. It got flagged. 4. Yes, the bots are still here. Yes they are still stealing posts and putting porn links on them. Yes there are still ads with stuff more sexual than they allow in posts. Yes innocent things are still getting flagged. 5. So yes, the site is still here and staff are still morons.

“Your content won’t be deleted, just hidden from public view…” Fuck @staff and @support because this is absolutely false. My “sensitive” content is hidden from everyone including myself. I’m permanently flagged as explicit. My posts that were incorrectly flagged as explicit and then appealed and approved as “safe” have still been hidden. My non-explicit icon is pixelated, my non-explicit header was removed, and neither can be reuploaded or fixed. You guys should be doing this to spam porn blogs, porn bots, pedos, and nazis and banning them. But no…I share nude photography, nude art, and content produced by sex workers mixed in with art, music, and quotes and that’s farrrrr more negative and abhorrent than anything else, right? A better more positive tumblr my ass. Fuck you. Fuck FOSTA. Fuck SESTA. Fuck Verizon. Fuck Oath. Fuck Apple. Fuck you guys for being lazy rather than actually monitoring user content. Once, I encountered the funny story of an AI image descriptor with a sheep obsession. It had been trained on pictures of fields of sheep. Therefore, it tagged anything in a field as 'sheep', including an empty field, because they work on statistical probability. Therefore, it thinks "ah, a field! there's probably a sheep here." (It's a bit more complicated but basically that.) It also couldn't recognise sheep in places that weren't fields, such as petrol stations or barns. [cont]

Now, the alarming aspect of this story is that the very same technology is probably what tumblr is using to identify porn. Now, if it can’t tell that an empty field is not, in fact, full of sheep, what hope do we have that it can’t tell an empty room isn’t full of writing human forms engaged in passionate coitus?
