@argenat
i got too optimistic and forgot kamala harris was dealing with the combined powers of racism and misogyny
some positives:
Seven states voted to protect abortion rights, including the deeply red state of Missouri
Sarah McBride became the first openly trans woman elected to congress
Mark Robinson, the man who called himself a "Black N*zi" will not be governor of North Carolina
Angela Alsobrooks and Lisa Blunt Rochester become the first duo of black women senators ever in the history of the senate (sadgressive but good for their constituents)
Kentucky voted to protect public education!
Just to add on to this. Arizona passed Constitutional Right to Abortion. And by a significant margin.
And for state superintendent of education, North Carolina did NOT vote for the psycho that said Obama should be executed, took her children with her to the capitol on January 6th, said schools are evil cesspools, that Trump should've used the military to stay in power in 2021, and that the plus in LGBTQ+ means pedophile.
(Would also like to point out that Robinson lost by 15%)
Estimates are coming in from the Beirut bombing.
There are very few injuries because most victims were vaporized.
It's hellish to imagine what the people of Beirut are going through right now.
Throughout this south Lebanon continued to be attacked.
these cannot be my options.
A 12-year-old Palestinian boy was shot while lighting a firework. ‘Cases like these happen quite regularly, but no one’s hearing about them,
While the world’s attention is on Gaza, life for Palestinians in the West Bank is also growing increasingly precarious. There has been a surge in settler violence and a spike in unlawful lethal force from Israeli forces. More than 400 Palestinians from East Jerusalem and the West Bank have been killed by Israeli fire since 7 October, according to the Palestinian health ministry. The Israeli human rights group B’Tselem has said that about 100 of these deaths have been children, most of whom posed no credible threat to heavily armed soldiers from one of the most powerful militaries in the world.
So since I combed through 18k notes to block various idiots and clear trolls I don't want on my post I also have now a collection of black trans people and black butches saying that the exact thing I spoke about is what kept/keeps them from exploring their own gender.
And I'm really just debating posting them all in the open where people can see and understand and maybe idk listen to us for once or something.
More and more and more and more and still I get white and nonblack poc in my notes saying it doesn't happen and no one cares enough to listen to black men, black mascs, black butches, black WOMEN that this is happening to us so please just fucking listen to black people when they tell you they're suffering and they can't truly be themselves because it becomes fucking hunting season the second they try.
A cis black man challenged me in the men's bathroom at work and from his perspective I was either a butch lesbian or a black twink and he was not happy with the idea of either of those in 'his' single occupancy public toilet. He read me as potentially cis but far too feminine for his liking and certainly not Being A Black Man The Right Way. Even our own heavily polices how our community acts- what would have happened to me if he had truly clocked me and decided to do something about it? When other black people lean into what few privileges racist society allows them to turn around and harm those who are not upholding the status quo, when nonblack people simply laugh at the monkeys fighting, who do we turn to for help?
I saw someone vaguing about my post going 'why did you even make this post it wasn't necessary' and I think the answer to that is that all of these people deserve to have their voices heard as they cry out for help. Not all of these are men but they are still affected by the way society treats black men due to being mistaken or mislabeled for men. Their closeness to men, whether real or imagined, places a target on their back.
Why did I make the original posts and this followup? Because I still get white people claiming to be leftists, liberals, feminists, and supporters of BLM as well as so-called 'anti-racists' commenting on my post telling me to shut up because other people have it worse and black men aren't oppressed. And I get white radfems deliberately doubling down on their racism in response to my posts when I was specifically what I was talking about.
Black people literally crying out in pain and still nonblack people say this is not a problem.
Hey guess what I have more too do you think this enough black people saying 'hey this happens' before others believe us or will we have to continue crying out for someone to listen to us before anyone acknowledges the problem? Because we have many different genders and sexualities and shades of black people on this post and yet...
All the people who agree with me are white? Then why are there so many black people sharing their stories?
Guess who has more, since this post has grown I figured more stories could be shared. I've got another but I'm at the post limit so I have to reblog a second time.
🤷♂️ but it's only white people talking about this.
Anyway any other black folks wanna add to this? Doesn't matter your exact gender, if you've got a complicated relationship with 'womanhood' or 'manhood' and feel as though you had to choose one to be safe even if it meant not transitioning medically/socially or it made you hide your gender presentation, this one's for you babes.
I'm going to keep reblogging this archive until y'all feel like fucking listening to us
When I started this archive project, I was expecting maybe about 20 or so responses over a couple hundred to thousand notes.
When I bumped this post an entire 9 days ago, I expected maybe a handful of responses to trickle in over the next couple months.
When I first wrote this post, I was expecting mostly black trans mascs and those adjacent to respond. That is the majority of responses, but I also have now collected responses of trans fems, cis gays, cis butches, studs, queens, nonbinary folks of all sorts, and more.
I thank each of you for pouring your heart out in response to a post made in support and with love to all of you, my black siblings and cousins and family, united by our experiences in racism and our love we have for each other, because clearly if we don’t have each other’s backs then how will we even hope to survive? Thank you for trusting me with your stories. And if I missed anyone, or anyone has any more to share, feel free, and I will collect them here as well. If you don’t want your name attached, you are always welcome to send an anon.
For those tuning in for the first time… I know this is a long post. There are no image descriptions. I have neither the spoons nor the time to be able to document each one, and it will make an already long post even longer. But if no one is willing to listen to us, then I will continue to document each of us screaming out in pain from the racism and sexism and transphobia and homophobia we experience every day as black people who dared to exist as we are.
It’s black history month. Let’s hear some black present day, so that our stories don’t just stay dead and gone forever.
Remember Hind. Remember Reem. Remember all the little boys and girls who are more than mere numbers. They are dreams, humanity's innocence, and most importantly they are not to be forgotten.
Good morning. This might be my last message from the city of Rafah. The occupation [Israel] is carrying out crazy fire. Violent belts. As you’re hearing, there are helicopters. Planes and gunfire from the vehicles. There’s a complete invasion of the city.
We don’t know what is going on in Rafah. The place that the occupation [Israel] claimed to be safe. This is happening all of a sudden; the people didn’t go out. They didn’t do anything. More than thirty targets were hit in just minutes. People were asleep. We woke up to the bombing, to the shooting from the helicopters. It was horrifying. Unacceptable. This might be my last message. Please relay it to the world.
— Hazem, journalist residing in Rafah; 02.11.2024
Rafah was Palestinians’ very last safe zone. There is quite literally nowhere else left to go. And now it’s being bombed with airstrike after airstrike.
Btw if you’re an American this one hundred percent was paid for by your tax dollars. You work to the bone so israel can bomb kids with million dollar bombs then take out million dollar ads to tell you they’re the victims
it’s looking like the iof have officially breached rafah. every palestinian i follow, most of whom have now been displaced to rafah, are posting that there’s non-stop bombing and sounds of clashes between the resistance and the israeli army (x, x, x). the rnn telegram is also reporting that armed clashes are taking place in northwest of the city and israeli bombing is concentrated around al-kuwaiti hospital (x, x). many martyrs already (x, x, x). in palestine, the time is currently just past 2am on 12th february 2024.

I am unfortunately just like other guys. I like trashy horror, dog poems, cannibalism as a metaphor for obsessive devotion, religious imagery, people who use my name in a sentence, academic validation, lying for fun, being bisexual and bleeding out in the snow.
if you’ve ever thought i’m standoffish, politely distant, or generally hard to befriend, know in your heart that i’m exactly the same in real life. my neighbours just showed up at my door drunk on Canada Day celebrations and told me how desperate they’ve been to meet me for the past few months and then tried to fix the water pump in my basement
one of the neighbours returned today with heavy machinery and gravel and fixed my driveway. i feel like a feral animal they’re trying to coax with little treats
they've told me the gossip which is that a few years back a 70 yr old man collapsed the bridge at the end of my road by driving his tractor over it, lost his tractor in the river, climbed back up the cliff unscathed, walked an hour home, and then the whole road fell into disrepair and all the campgrounds closed and the once popular waterfall down the road became obscure and secret. so like, be the change you want to see in the world. collapse a bridge to chase out the tourists. also you can lose widespread knowledge in under 10 years if one old man collapses a bridge
also i met this bridge collapsing old man on a walk a few months ago and he said to me "you should check out the river at the end of the road, there's a tractor in it!" like he wasn't the one who put it there
you ever think huh i havent drunk anything in a while, i guess i'll just have a little sip- glug gLUG GLUGGLUG HOLY SHIT GLUG GLUG GLUG GLUG GLUG GLUGGLUGLGUGLUG
check it out guys theyre starting discourse over water now
now imagine those two guys from saw going at it on the bathroom floor. i love this game!!
