The way my poor girl gets villainized by people who do not know the series... those parodies and """theory videos""" really did a number on people's perceptions on these characters.

It's frustrating because if you actually know the series, there's so much now that go against these claims. "Never helps or does anything", I guess Super Mario 3D World, Super Princess Peach, Super Mario Bros 2, and Princess Peach Showtime don't exist. Or in Galaxy when she gives Mario 1-Ups on the regular. Or the Super Mario Adventures comics.

These people wouldn't be able to point to a single moment in the series when she "expected things on a silver platter." (probably would point to a parody video actually just based on my experience).

And the way people so horribly misinterpret that Odyssey ending is baffling lmao.

it’s actually so frustrating I was ranting about this early and it’s like… yes Mario characters are deeper than most people think, but they are still relatively basic characters. If somebody is somehow misinterpreting Peach this bad I wonder how they’re doing with other media analysis 🤷‍♀️

This is why I always say that the odyssey ending is a litmus test to see if you actually understand these characters. Peach was fully in the right to reject both of them. Mario, even as my goat, fucked up a little bit there but obviously there were no harsh feelings lingering. Peach was overwhelmed and just needed space

This person was saying they hated peach because she hadn’t married Mario yet or returned his advances which ??? have we not played a SINGLE paper mario game she is down horrendous for that italian man 😭

I would also like to say that Mario's proposal might have actually WORKED had it not been within five feet of a demon who was rubbing his marriage with Peach in his face for an entire game, but because Bowser pushed him, Mario got pushy, and yea Peach turning him down was absolutely the best thing she could do there. If I were in that situation, I would probably reject him too!

(Well, okay, I would also reject Mario because I prefer the other option but that's not important.)
