Mermay & Alphabet Ocean Soup

Happy Mermay!!

If you've been following me for a while, you'll know that for a number of years now I've spent every May soliciting for prompts and writing a bunch of mermaid fic. This year I'm doing something a little different.

A couple years ago, I had the questionable idea to do this alphanumeric bingo where I try to hit a mermay fic for a fandom from every number 0-9 and every letter A-Z. Thus began one of the more absurd silly little challenges I have ever created for myself. (Finding media that starts with numerals in particular has been a wild journey.) It's taken two years of prep—and make no mistake that I am still writing a fair number of these as I'm posting them. This project will probably not manage to be daily posting for the whole time. I fully expect it to take me most of June, if not a chunk of July as well, to get everything up, especially as I'll be busy opening a show in the middle of that. But! I'm determined it's happening this year and at the latest will be done by the end of summer.

I'm not accepting prompts this year, I'm afraid, as I want to prioritize the bingo (but keep your ideas for 2027, they'll be back!). But I hope you'll check out some of the weird little corners that I've ventured into and enjoy the fics that I am posting! I won't be promo-ing each fic individually—lord knows those posts don't get notes even when I'm posting for fandoms that I'm in regularly and that people presumably actively follow me for—but you can check out the whole list here! And one or two of the fics that I'm particularly proud of may get their own posts.

Oh my gosh! It’s finally here! The finale! :,,,D For those who dont know, I became chronically ill in 2018 which prevented me from partaking in any of my hobbies, including To Belong. But now after advanced treatment and tons of meds, I could pick at this little at a time until it was done. A HUGE thank you to my lovely fiancée Kait for pushing me! The next project I want to focus on is to finalize the pilot episode for TB which is done with rough animation and is in the final-lines stage. And you can find SO MANY updates on Patreon.
